Well at present their ratings are on par with the Storm - time will tell if it increases as their rivalry grows - the real question is will the NRL expand to do likewise??

I think the gws ratings for the next final will be interesting as no Swans factor in there.
I wonder if they will put games on the main channel if the next final rates well?
What i did find interesting was the ratings for other finals. These did okay i reckon in sydney for AFL games with no sydney team. Not sure how nrl did in non traditional states or in victoria for games without the storm in them. Anyone got figures.

Check out Wookie's posts/tables in the TV ratings forum. As you've noted and you can see, AFL doing very well ratings wise in Sydney for the AFL finals. Was fantastic to see 60,200+ at ANZ Stadium and 157k watching on tv during the generally low rating Saturday afternoon timeslot. A true rivalry is no doubt developing in Sydney between the Swans and Giants.

NRL you ask.... well... not so well in non heartland. Particularly concerning for the NRL must be just
74k watching the Melbourne Storm live in Melbourne in a final.

Yeah you were talking about ratings on the main channel weren't you. In any case here are the STV ratings. Sadly we don't get capital city breakdowns.
Sat STV #AFL #FoxFooty #AFLFinals #AFLSwansGIANTS 437k
Imagine the ratings for an all Sydney AFL Grand Final?
