I agree. Those AFL players can definitely extend one foot in front of the other and repeat it for a long time. They're fabulous trotters and some of them can achieve a mild gallop in comparison to your rl players.

You gotta give em what they're due. :)

Swines ? You hear that? Fabulous trotters your boys are out there on that grass. Just fabulous.

So that's why NRLOLs finest were out preformed by a bunch of kids!
If the AFL players are plodders what does that make nrlol players after its finest were embarrassments in the AFL

once again the AFL crying out for relevance, any international event the AFL photobombs, they do it with the ICC in melbourne, hell they were even so desperate that they got in on the Action win Tim Cahill signed for Melbourne City.

They are the ultimate look at me look at me sporting admin in the world. They are so lacking in any international credibility that they have to jump on any international exposure they can.
Just like the soccer is trying to do over here
been here longer than AFL
Err no - some AF clubs have existed before most if not all soccer clubs OS and certainly 100 yrs before any A League clubs. Pretty stupid comment really!
Thought that might get a few nibbles, disappointed it was only 1.

What A League clubs have got to do with it is beyond me, but but this comments is great

"some AF clubs have existed before most if not all soccer clubs OS"

So we are talking about several 100's of thousands of clubs worldwide, so you are saying SOME AF clubs are older. But they are not the oldest. I know of at least 2 that are older.

Edinburgh Football club and Sheffield FC and maybe Hallam, so sorry you are wrong.

I should also had that there are several Rugby Clubs that are older than both those as well.

My point partly tongue in cheek, but mostly identifying a few things, 'football' was played in Australia before AF started, AF in Sydney was never really played, the early rules of AF have less in common than those of Cambridge and Sheffield rules have with modern football.
Well no what was the professional soccer comp in Sydney until 1882 http://home.dictionaryofsydney.org/soccer-in-sydney-2/

Whereas AF was introduced prior to that
https://nswfootballhistory.com.au/wp-co ... ISTORY.doc

Clearly Clubs like Carlton before many European soccer clubs came into being. Regardless of the 'rules' being different it was still there and the Clubs that still exist today were there - your trying to gain some higher moral ground where there just isn't!
I can't really understand what you are trying to say.
The only measure are professional comps? Kinda rules out Rugby then, which is a bit unfair.

Carlton is older than many football clubs? yep sure that's true, not sure the point. There are football clubs older than Carlton, see not sure of the point you are making.

Moral ground? how so? Just saying that there are older football clubs than AF clubs, nothing more nothing less.
You were the one saying Soccer had been here longer ...... I'm just pointing out that it's professional comps are no older than AFL - you are somehow trying to argue that this in some ways makes soccer superior - it doesn't.
The fact you have world wide comps proves nothing but that people are very insular - (I suppose the fact at one point most of the worlds population were under communist governments - doesn't make that system of government better than democracy!). I just don't think you really have a point!
But facts are facts. AFL has rules that are stupid beyond words compared to football.

No other country in the world will like a sport which rewards missed shots at goal and has a ref throw the ball in backwards when it goes out.
Like seriously how shit is AFL lol

The reason Football is the world game is because it is a common sense game.
Something AFL will never be.
But again your opinion and the fact it is played OS illustrates how much your opinion is wrong. We don't have the advantage of being invented OS like your sport and as there are now only 24 mil Australians the population historically to spread out game - but the fact people have started playing with increased information in this age just illustrates it's only stupid people like you who can't understand its rules! Get a life champ it's only a game and it's not gunna take your birthday away from you!
I understand it's rules well. Points for missing. Free kick at goal if you catch on the full in the goal area.
Ball gets thrown in backwards by the ref if it goes out.

Still is a stupid game lol

I guarantee AFL would never have take off even if it was invented overseas. People don't like points for missing goals or constant drop balls in sport.

Just face it AFL is such a poorly though out game and that is why nobody outside Australia will take it seriously.

Your sport us a laughing stock.

Aussie Fools where you get a point for missing and throw the ball in backwards.
 =D> :(/
But the fact people are playing OS in increasing numbers since the late 90's shows just how wrong you are - you really have a chip on your shoulder - if you understand the rules like you say it would make sense to you obviously tying shoe laces for you is a burden - get a life!
Chip on my shoulder about what lol. That no other nations like AFL.  ..
A few Victorian overseas expats playing AFL is hardly huge growth lol.

You guys can't even field an overseas team to compete against Australia... yet some how you think AFL has had huge international growth.
Please explain this miracle? :| When are there going to AFL test maches with so many people playing AFL overseas?

Rugby League can at least prove it's overseas growth with the Pacific Nations Test and a new Canadian Professional Rugby League team,
Toronto Wolfpack.

No because your inferring that in some way NRL are the best athletes and AFL can only run the longest......it's pitiful that you need to do this to in some way illustrate that RL is somehow superior - you should know as do the rest of the posters on here (with the exception of the bumsniffer tin foil hat brigade) that what your claiming can't be verified or quantified your comparing apples with oranges. Both games GPS (which no one around here ever refers to and keeps relying on rexona challenges) show both games to be similar in performance. The players of both sides are equal to each other as far as I'm concerned in skill and abilities it's only know nothings like you that continually make these comparisons!

those kids were to fast, skillful, to much endurance & just to smart for NRLOL's finest
the hunt and folau were total embarrassments and whimped back to rugby. union & now are starring :(/

but no you wont take actual reality in to account will you, just continue your sprouting your dribble along with your other loons trying to talk the NRLOL players up,

 you really have lost yer marbles!

Ok let's see I never actually did compare apples with oranges - I said the AFL laddettes, yes those lithe thin catwalk ready looking sportsmen, can run long distances pretty darn good in comparison to the muscly strong masculine looking fellas of rugby league. If you have a brain you'll notice I'm comparing running endurance with running endurance you dumb twat!

As for other areas of athleticism. 1. Comparing speed for speed. Could you tell me which code has faster players? 2. Power with power this time. Which code has players who could score highest in a standing broad jump and medicine ball throwing contest? Strength which code has players that could squat and bench press the biggest weight? 3. Agility. Which code has players who could record the quickest time in the 505 agility test?

Why are the AFL always so desperate to 'tag' onto an international sport when it arrives in Australia? Are they that desperate to be relevant?

It's true porkchop. It's true and you're right - they are desperate for interational relevance.

Though we should clarify that it's desperation on a sub-conscious level most of the time. You'll hear time and time again false lines like "we dont care, we're the biggest in australia". But we all know the AFL and its fans are desperate to achieve something internationally. They're spending millions on o/s promotions that fall flat on their arse time and time again. They've been playing some hybrid game with the irish and getting their arses kicked by irish amateur butchers, bakers, tradies and garbage men who play gaelic footy for next to nothing. That concept is dead in the water too. Then there was some halfbaked idea to pay all expenses for 8 odd people from o/s to spend six months in aus and to support an AFL team :(/ Ahhh how'd that end up? I heard sven from sweden got heaps of roots on the weekends but didnt bother turning up to the AFL matches :_<> :_<> idiots down at AFL hq! That doozy woulda cost atleast a million for jack diddly squat in return.

South africa, china, india, new zealand, the states, europe all could not give two shits about the code even tho the AFL have tried hard to be accepted.

A major part of the problem is the name, just like american football...if you are dumb enough to name a sport after a country then dont go dreaming of expansion across the world #-o #-o the dimwits are effectively going o/s with a sport that's name literally says "its ours not yours" :(/ :_<> :_<> :(/ idiots! :_<> :(/ :_<> at least american footy players have a nation of 300plus million keen on the code and the athletes are fairly supreme...

And when you look at that picture of the AFL laddettes next to COLLEGE american footy players their code's irrelevance is so...so so so. sooo soo so so so so soooooooo profound

You must really love the sound of your own voice - what a lot of dribble you write. Every code does this it's laughable that you two find issue with it.
