What has that got to do with anything - my point is under McIntyre system 1st plays 8th which if they lose really upsets the apple cart and changes you playing at home etc etc. it was a complicated finals system - now with the present system there is a greater chance of top 2 going thru to the GF. I wasn't trying to claim the origins of a final 8. Geeze you'll argue about the most inane subjects.

I think you'll find the arl had this top 8 a few decades ago, the fumbles stole it and now say they came up with it first even though RL had it before and have decided to reuse it again.
