You asked if there was any commercial interest, and I answered. To the very recent history (as far as I am aware) the Socceroos (non qualifying games) and the A league was all in one. They have now separated them for the upcoming negotiations, the qualifiers are separated again because they are controlled via FIFA's negotiations and are held currently by Foxtel, who have now onsold them to Channel 9, hence why I bought that up.Beaussie wrote:Um, your point about the Socceroos is?post_hoc wrote:Yep, and you saw the start of it last week and you will see it again on Tuesday night. Channel 9 are showing the Socceroos qualifying rounds.Beaussie wrote:Any commercial networks expressed any interest thus far? Hmmm>
This will be hilarious. A-League is worth shit without the Socceroos.![]()

A-League TV rights to be sold separately from Socceroos
DAVID DAVUTOVIC, Herald Sun

THE A-League TV rights will be sold independently for the first time, with FFA blocked from bundling Socceroos rights into one package.
The unprecedented step leaves uncertainty around the A-League’s broadcast value, with the current $40m-a-year TV deal inclusive of the first phase of 2018 World Cup qualifiers and the 2015 Asian Cup.

I could point out why would you ask a question when we are in contract at the moment so the answer is of course there won't be. But we all know that and we all know that you are just trying to deflect away from what was a great result on Saturday night.
