They have declined slightly due to Thursday and Monday night coverage. But quiet a few clubs have recorded record crowds in the past few years -
Easts
Souths
Cantebury
NZ
Storm, probably others & Origin
They have also recorded there largest crowds in WA and Victoria.

Like alot of things AFL. The bullshit and hype is always inflated tenfold.
Is a bit like Koche going to China thinking AFL is going to get a following there.
why have the NRL steadily increased their memberships year after year but their crowds have been declining for the last few years?

Actually your wrong NRL crowds are up on last year. More AFL lies lol

this season isnt even 1/3 through yet so theres no use comparing, especially prior to your SOO period which dips the crowds every year. Im talking about the last few years where the NRLs home and away season average has dropped steadily.
Why has that happened if the memberships have increased steadily?

They haven't droped steadily. Only AFL fans have been saying this. Been up and down and are up on this year compared to last year in line with memberships.
Unlike the Swans whose biggest ever average crowd was back in 2005/2006 yet membership were less. Makes no sense.

cut your BS, the NRL home and away crowds have been steadily dropping since 2012 when they were 16.4k. Last year they were 15.1k
http://afltables.com/rl/crowds/summary.html
Yet in that time the memberships have climbed significantly. They couldnt be further from being 'in line'

Well they'll be up this year because teams with support are winning.
The last 5 or so years has seen teams like Manly, Roosters, Melbourne, Nth QLD, Souths all at the top or near it, time to give the teams with some support a go. I also agree about the RL average crowd, at our highest we had all games played on a Saturday or Sunday with 1 Friday night game, now we have Thursday, Monday, Friday, Saturday night plus the occasional Sunday night game too, all things considered as well as all games being shown live on TeLieVision, the NRL isn't actually in a bad place and will actually have a better average in the years to come when they dump some of these stupid schedules and get back to weekend footy.

we'll see, the NRL are actually slightly down compared to the same time last year
The AFL have their biggest 4 clubs on the bottom so if they improve in crowds it will be interesting

I was going by wiki NRL figures. Look them up if you don't believe me.
Your table still makes your claim a load of shit though. The crowds in your link too still show crowds have not being steadily declining like you say.
So yep xfool is wrong again lol Thanks for the further proof in that link. =D> =D>

I would much sooner have a slight drop in crowd numbers and a huge rise in tv ratings( this year 20%), Then have a continual decrease in tv ratings like the AFL has.
And as said before . Once Monday night is dropped, from next year , and off the back of a massive increase in viewers, an upgrading of stadiums. Our crows will increase and increase and eventually you will run out of but but excuses.

who am I kidding? you will never run out of but but excuses.

FMD the figures in the table I referenced have been used one here, BF and LU for years. They are updated every year and are accurate.
They show the NRLs
home and away crowd average has declined every year after 2012. Now they are down again this season when compared to the same time last year, and last year was the lowest home and away crowd average in a decade.
Now, how is that possible if the NRL memberships have increased by nearly 100k in that time?

the NRL have changed their TV scheduling significantly so an increase in ratings is hardly surprising.
As for your crowd averages, please, you had the lowest home and away average in a decade last year and are down again to date. Only you could spin that as positive

They haven't changed there tv scheduling significantly! they've changed 1 game from a delayed telecast tp a live, which doesn't account for our MASSIVE increase! but but but!

theyve doubled their live prime time FTA games, and increased their fox games by 3. You cant gauge any genuine increase when the conditions are totally different
