RL has 3 popular games, the rest trails the AFL. Thats where RLs advantage ends. The AFL dominates every other metric by the length of the straight

Crowds a millions dollar industry : this is the area you dominate (with the exception of persecuting minority groups).
Ratings. a billion dollar industry : this is the are we dominate!

The usual crap. We Dominated the ratings last year and were doing so once again this year. We not only have the envy of every sporting code in Australia; last years Grand Final was no1, making it 1,2 and 3. We also had 7 of the top 10 highest rating matches between our two codes. the year before 1,2 and 4. And this year our opening game leads the way. When it comes to pay TV there's us and there's daylight second. Were ranked 3 in world sport, Other than South of the Murray, the AFL name is barely recognised.

How do they, does the AFL game average 3.5 million on the box, does it average 50,000 no matter where it's played? No to both these answers so how can it be bigger when it can't even beat our small 3 game series?

Lol your state vs state gimmick? People watch their state play another state! Then 90% loose total interest in league

I don't know why I am trying but I will give it ago..
you do realize NRL Season in all rep games H&A =206 games
the AFL season = 206 games
there is only one reason the AFL gets more and one reason only.
watch a rugby league game and count the adverts..
now watch a AFL game and count the adverts.
you will see a huge difference..
there was a quote in the AUSTRALIAN last year and it said
"An Advert after a goal is scored in the AFL is one of the best advertising spots you can get"
and there is a what 30+ goals average a game
to sum it up..
the AFL should be getting a hell of a lot more if you compare it to the NRL Deal.

Do you just make stuff up? pull it out of your arse? Can't you understand there's a difference between fact and fantasy. our NRL numbers were just as strong, at the end of the year , and the Grand Final? I have told you time after time to lay off the metho. Your obviously not listening.

youre ignoring the advertising value between NSW/QLD and VIC/WA/SA. The NRL's homeland markets get way more per ad than the AFL's.

if this were the case the NRL would get a higher income. But we know in actual fact the AFL do, nearly double
So youre speaking BS again

NRL FTA would favour AFL . But league do have 4 matches that earn over 100k for a 30 sec add, AFL just 1. While on Fox, where the NRL totally dominates, Advertising would have little effect because there is no Advertising during a game. We will get more money but the changes wont happen overnight. Not much more than 4 years ago we were being paid about $40m a year by fox. Today there paying us over $180m a year. And if we hadn't pissed Rupert off it probably would of been more.
