Murdoch

This is all Business.. and easy to see..

News limited (Murdoch is just pissed off)

2012 news limited broke away from the NRL (as part of signing the deal)
lost first and last rights.

the next deal was always going to have to make News limited pay big dough in next negotiations

Fox Sports need NRL more then NRL needs FOX

SUSPENSEFULL STUFF
JUST HURRY UP ALREADY!!

Super League uncle rupes, what was that again mr fav code we always wanted?

And look at all the fumblers going off half cocked, well done. Why not wait until the whole NRL deal is done before telling everyone the NRL and Rugby League is dead, I hope you don't root your partners like you jump the gun here.

Btw, our FTA deal is still a record and I will not be surprised at all to see the Pay TV part be a record too.

Why so much anger from our league friends today?

#NRL own 49 of Top100 rating sporting events on STV so far this yr, avg 266k. However, 43/49 are MON & SAT 7:30 games

https://twitter.com/RL_Ratings

Yep with 5 games compared to the AFL 9 and no finals games the NRL still has the majority of the large rating games

The 'undesirable' #NRL timeslots FoxSport MAY receive exclusive under new TV deal avg 180k in 2015, AFL STV avg 179k.

The NRL still ave more with undesirable time slots.

With all 8 games simulcasts they will pay a bucket load for 5 years.

yes because many of the AFL games are similar cast on FTA as well! many of the AFL games are played in the early and late afternoons as well where as the NRLOL games are not!

attempt to come up with every scenario and excuse you can! the AFL will get more than the NRLOL in the board cast rights & will continue to.

its simple eat shit & move on the NRLOL is second & AFL will only continue to grow bigger at a much faster rate

lol completely different broadcast deals & arrangements spazza :thumbleft:
any way how much of of the NRLOL FTA deal does SOO count for :)))
considering the AFL's deal is only for its H&A season & finals, the NRLOL's includes SOO H&A season, finals, internationals!!

so the NRLOL is going to get another 1.5 billion all up :\:

:(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
NRLOL number two by a large distance :))) :))) :\: :\:

Telstra will pay about $300 million of the record deal over the six years, and broadcast AFL matches over its planned Telstra TV service and to handsets and digital devices, while Seven will pay $840 million in cash and $60 million in contra.

AFL 900million over 6 years for 7

NRL 925million over 5 years for 9

Rupert Murdoch has directly intervened and pushed the value of Australian Football League broadcast rights to unprecedented heights, agreeing for News Corporation to pay about $1.3 billion of a record $2.508 billion six-year deal the league has struck.

AFL 1.3Billion over 6 years all games simulcasting

Dont get to excited guys, the NRL only has to offer a 9th game + simulcasting to get 1 billion+ over 5 years for Fox.

The digital rights for the 4 Channel 9 NRL games are non-exclusive meaning that all 8 or 9 games can be resold to a subscription service.

NRL 1.9billion + international rights for about 250million and digital rights still to come over 5 years

AFL 2.5billion over 6 years which = 2.08billion over 5 years all gone sold.

Not taking anything away from this tv deal its a really good result but

wait for the fat lady to sing....
Your a little wrong my friend.

The NRL channel 9 deal is for 4 games exclusive for 925 million. The deal loses 30 million a year (150 million) if all four of those games are simulcast. So a simulcast deal will reduce the input of c9 to 775 million. 9 also owns the digital rights to those 4 games, which subtracts from the online rights and they may even be able to sell them internationally. (I'm not sure about this last bit) However I can see the NRL equaling the AFL deal by getting about 2 billion over 5 years after they sell the rest of the rights, with simulcast.

The deal looses 25million a year which puts the deal at 800m over 5 years or 160m a year, still more then the C7 Fta deal for AFL of 150m a year over 6 years.

all 8 games and a possible 9th game simulcasting would net the NRL 1billion+ over 5 years easy.

4 games are digital with 9 but are non exclusive to 9 so we have Digital rights to all 8/9 games to sell 250m,

International rights 50m

NZ Sky 100m

i Guess we will see in 2 years time.

So the AFL show 9 games per week and have 30% of the top 100 shows

The NRL show 5 games a week and have 50% of the top 100.

Also the NRL Dregs rate larger (180k ave) then the entire AFL ave on Fox (179k).

Yeahnah NRL smashes AFL to pieces on Pay and Rupert knows it.

Get ready to pay up old man...
