Sure do, on Saturday night. But there's no NRL game on FTA to compare it to. Still doesnt discount my original claim that the AFL's ANZAC day game is the highest rating home and away game for either code by quite some margin

Yes Your Anzac day game rates High its a Good number.. (AFL)

But a lot of NRL games of FTA rate between 1.0 -1.3 Mill
Which is Excellent..

AFL can not get this.. besides the Anzac Day game

But Yes Your Top AFL Game on Anzac Day is the highest rating game of the year in normal rounds...
wrong again.

Essendon’s Round 7 blockbuster against Geelong at Etihad Stadium on Friday night was the most-watched Friday night game since the current ratings system began in 2001 with a total audience of 1.545 million viewers on free to air and subscription television - See more at: http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/2013- ... wl8vj.dpuf

Ok fair Enough..
That is one game.. maybe a couple more if you can find it..
x 2 coverage though which helps pull abit more in.

anyways
NRL rates A lot better on Friday Night.

and yes Your Anzac day game is higher.

The regionals were not far from 500k.
but it was still 2 games combined with one being a supposed blockbuster, and the other involving your largest club. Yet it is soundly beaten by a single AFL game involving 2 teams from one city, not shown in prime time, and by a margin in the order of 33%

You cant always look into that..

Think of it this way.. Brisbane game was played into Brisbane market and rated 220k

The sunday game on delay Roosters Souths rated 174k into Brisbane.

the Sydney games still rate pretty well in Brisbane..
Which is why I do not understand why the constantly put broncos on Friday Night..

drives me crazy...!!!
Utter BS

Every game the Broncos played on FN they rated well over 200k. Just about every game not involving the broncos rated below 200, some near 150k. There is a reason the Broncos play every FN and its only ratings
Yes I know they rate over 200k every time..

but when you consider you can get two Sydney teams playing and only 50k viewers lower sometimes
its still very good...

Channel 9 don't have to always play them on Friday Night..
They can save them for sunday for example.. and still have a high rating program at the same time.

This will change in the next Tv Rights..
its closer to 100k lower than 50k. Chanel 9 play them because the NRL sold their soul in the last deal. If they want to control their schedule theyll need to take less.

"Why wouldn't they be on every Friday night in Brisbane?" Gyngell said. "We just bought the game. "I don't care (if the Broncos don't want it), they're going to do quite well out of the money they're going to get from the deal, aren't they? "I sit here unapologetically, when you pay this sort of money, to have the games you actually have to put programming into slots that you can commercialise. "We are broadcasters, we are not narrow-casters. Majority wins with us but niches don't always win. "What the facts are is more people want to watch their local games and then can watch the second game later."

the NRL combine 2 games into one telecast on FN, with one game engaging an entire city of 2mil. They should win every single FN with that arrangement, but it costs them 2 of their 3 FTA games to do it. The AFL often still win these FN battles with only a single game involving 2 Melbourne teams. Then the AFL still have 3 more FTA games for the weekend and rate well on Saturday and Sunday with no comparison from the NRL

Agreed!

they did it to get MAX REVENUE as they needed it..
This will change in next rights. Where last rights will be gone.
NRL will have more say and better Position..

But You would think the Broncos would rate 200k more then a Sydney derby game

Souths v roosters on Delay in Brisbane in the afternoon 174k
Broncos Friday Night LIVE primetime 220k
previous week end. 235k against souths..

be interesting to see Bronx Cowboys..
Though the Aus Cricket semi is on too...

How can they rate 200k higher? Brisbane has a population of 2m. A 10% viewership results in 200k, which is comparable to Sydney rating 450-500k, which is the most they get for a home and away game. If they rated 200k less for non-bronco games no one would be watching in Brisbane

based on what? Other than the opening game last year Brisbane rated well under 200k for every FN game NOT involving the Broncos. Here are other examples: Cant v Syd 181k, Pen v Parra 125k!, Parra v Cowb 176k, Souths v tigers 155k, Cant v Manly 138k!, Parra v south 149k,

Your claim is baseless. This proves the reason the NRL is comparable with the AFL on FN is ch9 show 2 games with one involving the broncos. If they dont they cant compete

There a some high figures there.

what so cut of between 50- 80k worth of viewers if the Bronx are not playing....

rubbish. I showed you the figures for FN games not involving the Broncos, which were well below 250k, and these are still the combination of two games. Many weeks the NRL's 2 games lose to the AFLs single AFL game on FN when both metro, regional and FTA ratings are included

Cant v Syd 181k, Pen v Parra 125k!, Parra v Cowb 176k, Souths v tigers 155k, Cant v Manly 138k!, Parra v south 149k,

you showed me this and I said 50- 80k less then broncos.

181 plus 50 = 230k

even if you ad 181k viewers to the Sydney figure of just 400k plus 400k regionals
It puts you on par of the Million viewer mark.

youre wrong. Most AFL games on FN rate 1.05 -1.25m when fox and regionals are included. viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4801 look down the list of FN's. The only figures below 1m dont include regionals. There are many games well over 1.2m

Looks pretty Tight to me with both codes in the Million Mark..
and yes I did take into account that some regionals were missing...

and yes some games did include Bronx figures
just do a deduction..

the figures are both in the ball park, yet the AFL has one game not two, and the majority of these games involve 2 Melbourne teams, not teams in SA or WA. This is the NRL's pinnacle telecast, but its only one of the AFL's. They leap ahead once games with teams from SA and WA are included over the weekend

*also, you need to add in the NRLs flexible schedule where they arrange the best matchup for every FN. The AFL dont do this which gives them a disadvantage in viewers but an advantage in attendance
