are you seriously suggesting RL is not as popular as sooker in NZpost_hoc wrote:is that true? I assumed the 4 Nations was a sell out, the fact they only got 20 odd thousand was that the stadium only held that.Pete_09 wrote:Of course the AFL is not bigger than Rugby League in NZ. The AFL is just starting there, no one even knows what it is, yet everyone knows Rugby League but they get a half full stadium to the biggest game in years. I found that very strange & sad for the great exciting game of Rugby League
Are you saying the 4 nations didn't sell out, that is just embarrassing, the biggest international rugby league tournament between the number 1 and 2 sides couldn't sell out the stadium.
oh my the Kangawhoos are an embarrassment
for a side that is built up to be something special .. the sookerwhos ...to be outrated in almost every game played by these 2 RL sidespost_hoc wrote:Lyingdave as always too dumb to understand. You would see I have said football isn't hugely popular in NZ.
The fact that you guys claim league is and yet got such a poor crowd to an international match between the the worlds top two sides is terrible.

Your talking out of your arse man. The stadium was not half full, was 70% capacity at least during the match. Don't forget Rugby League is not the NZ national game is it. Is a long way behind Union still, but gaining momentum slowly.Pete_09 wrote:Of course the AFL is not bigger than Rugby League in NZ. you forgot it didn't start til 9.45pm local time either & it finished at near midnightAFLsforPussies wrote:Your talking out of your arse man. 4 Nations had record crowds for the competion last year.
Now lets talk about AFLs push into NZ, your AFL match in 2014 there had ticket sales down on previous years.
So much so that AFL players hit the streets of Auckland before the match handing out flyers to promote the game.
AFL has a long way to go to try to get Kiwis intererested in Aussie Rules. They are not even close to what Rugby League has there.
True mate, netball gets more coverage in NZ than the little one nation AFL codeRaiderdave wrote:you forgot it didn't start til 9.45pm local time either & it finished at near midnightAFLsforPussies wrote:Your talking out of your arse man. Yeah, expected 8) - the common trend of NRL fans being in their 50s continue while the younger generation is only interested in aesthetically pleasing, smart, skillful and enjoyable sports such as soccer and AFL
