Wasn't bad to expand while you have the money and the television behind you, far from it actually. It's more the placement of teams and where they are that's more important and I still don't see the Newest Sydney side doing anything ever, nothing I have seen has ever suggested the AFL could have two very successful teams in Sydney in a healthy even comp. It just ain't going to happen imo.

My mistake. Cheers.
The drop in 2012 was an unwelcome suprise no question. However that still had less to do with expansion and more to do with some of the larger clubs performing badly.
Carltons match average dropped by 8,000 alone (more than Gold Coasts drop of 6k which was made up for by GWS averaging 10k). Collingwood and Essendon were also down around 2,000 each on their 2011 averages. It was a weird year for the big vic clubs.
At least we have expansion to blame in some way though, NRL crowds dropped in 2013 and 2014
with no real good reason right?
NRL crowds were up in 2014 as we know
And
You have excuses
Their legitimacy is a matter of opinion
Without the opening of the Adelaide oval this year to save the VFL
I have no doubt the VFL would have had an even worse year then 2012
With expansion no loner being a valid excuse...theres no real reason for this other then the VFL being a low quality dull competition
Of course therell be no Adelaide oval opening this year
Or next
Or the one after that
Will there ?

AFL crowds were screwed by the AFL themselves last year, by the leagues own admittance variable pricing and sunday night/evening, monday night games were bad for crowds, and they've addressed that issue immediately. These slots might be good for tv, but the AFL banks on good crowds as well. (which is why I think NRL crowds will drop again this year when they introduce live coverage of the sunday game with a later time slot. The AFL has proven it sucks for crowds.NRL Monday night crowds speak for themselves - its a tv event)
A kickoff an hour later will have next to no impact on crowds
And Dont tell us about scheduling
Thursdays
Mondays
Late Sundays
Its not an excuse thats accepted when we raise it
It Wont fly for anyone else either
If the VFLs crowds dont rise significantly in Melbourne this year
I think all of the excuses will of been used up.

and yet they are added to the H&A average on every site that does crowds to give the overall average
so once again
the NRL average was up in 2014
end of

http://afltables.com/rl/crowds/summary.html
2014 average 15905
2013 average 15940
Try again.
again for this babbling tosser
2013 16,643
2014 16,798

Stop including the finals. That creates a bias that is unjustifiable.

And since the AFL is the benchmark when it comes to crowds in this country, the AFL Commission probably knows what its talking about.
yeah
sure it does
I mean an organisation that adds teams & games
& watches the aggregate & average fall
are just genius's aren't they ?
I think I will tell you about scheduling fuckwit
and
I think I won't listen fuckwit

But porky your boyfriend dumbo used the excuse of the bigger teams not making the finals as an excuse for Aflol numbers being down .
A whole season is a whole season .& NRL numbers were up .
Deal with it .
Or cry. I don't give a fuck .

Most sites I see don't, they separate them, especially considering the FFA controls the Finals.
Added to that is the strong divide in fans on the Final's series. Traditionalist like myself prefer "first past the post" and therefore weigh the Premiers Plate higher (as do the AFC) over the Champions (which is the winner of the final) in many ways it is like two separate competitions.
Others value the Champions higher. Makes for good debate come finals time, that is why we don't call it the Minor Premiership like the NRL does.

every LOL league attendance quoted anywhere on any site.. in any article .... by any fan anywhere.. includes them together
it'd be pretty sick reading otherwise
