Wookie can you maybe start a scholarship for lyingdave. He clearly needs a decent education, it is sad that someone passes through our education system and yet be so daft.
I'm happy to throw a few quid in

A few games hardly makes a home team.

well given the Raiders are propped up every year from government funding & their parent company. for the small amount required to run an NRL team the Raiders are hardly a team that would exist with such help

Is still more than AFL has, which is no team in Canberra. Unless GWS call themselves Canberra Western Sydney (CWS Giants). They will never be seen as a Canberra team.
So funny to know that Australia's so called game does not have an AFL team in it's own capital
Yet the two British Imports Union and League do have teams in Canberra

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-new ... 1xzpx.html
"A dismal season on the field for the NRL operation last year was matched by below-par financial performance, slumping to a loss of more than $220,000 on revenues of almost $12 million, including nearly $2 million in cash and in-kind benefits from the ACT government"
add in around 6 million from the NRL commission from the distribution
"But the Raiders' parent group, The Canberra District Rugby League Football Club Ltd, enjoyed cash-flows last year of almost $50 million and healthy profits of $3.6 million"
so around 6 million from the NRL
nearly 2 million from the ACT
thats around 4 million from sponsorships, members & crowd revenue.
they are unwanted!
consider minnow teams of the AFL North Melbourne & Stkilda are turning over 30 million in revenue total, 9 odd million from AFL distribution & 20 plus million from Football related income!
you do the maths
