Re: Champions of Asia

Oh dear goodness. Was it really 43k ?

But this was huuuuge? It was billed by the blokes in here as bigger than the sydney Olympics. They said it was massive and had never been done before. And...about 99.89% of Aussies couldn't give a stuff to watch it! :_<>
Game over.

Re: Champions of Asia
Yet it makes news around the world, on all the channels in Australia, and pages in the news paper, NRL gets drug abuse and wife beaters, hard for you to understand positive news stories.
More people watched that game than watched soo 123 and NRL grand final, must suck to be you guys, insignificant in the world, and 18,000 at your pinnacle event in Melbourne, it real does suck to be you

Re: Champions of Asia
I'd like to see these 'world figures' actually. Where's the proof? I'd suggest it was only Asian countries interested so there could have been a few mil but whoop di do, no one watched it to see the wanderers or an Aussie side. Therefore we are well within I our rights to point out just how irrelevant the code is here.

Re: Champions of Asia
ratings haven't come out yet KE, last season the final was in the 60-70 million region
this season on the back of the first Saudi club in years to make the final :
this season on the back of the first Saudi club in years to make the final :
A lot more effort and time has to go into tracking it considering there are over 40 countries in this region than simply waiting for mediaweek to publish the results on twitter every morning....but you get that with a sport as global as ours :>::Maybe it has also opened a few corporate eyes too, particularly for businesses whose natural impulse is to lean towards investment in other sports. TV audience figures for the ACL Final are expected to top 90 million Asia-wide - numbers that are hugely attractive to companies seeking to sell their wares in some of Australia’s biggest trading markets. Similarly, the Champions League story helps sell the narrative of the Asian Cup on home soil in January.

Re: Champions of Asia
Yes, yes I actually recall Stephen Bradbury getting some sponsors out of his fluke win. But...well the wanderers were just disappointing winners. they didn't deserve it and it wasn't funny like Bradbury's win. So you'd think those potential corporates more than likely slumbered through that final, just like almost all Australians. Well they mighta watched the Asian team a bit and seen how hard done by they were with that ref letting the wanderers off for foul after foul.
