Parra stadium was sold out earlier in the season.

The eels average will drop next week when they play a home game in Darwin followed up with a game against the dogs at anz which will raise it again. Need to sort out the stadiums for once and all.

The game against Canberra can get a crowd at Parra from anywhere from 12k up, I'm sure if this game was played at Parra this week, it would've been a sell out too as the fans wanted to give Ricky Stuart a piece of their mind, but that can't happen now unless each and every parra fan jumps on a plane and heads to the Northern bloody Territory :/;
What's the expected crowd in Darwin - Melbourne got almost 10k
Dunno but last game in Darwin outdrew the AFL game up there.
By a couple hundred - I wonder if it will be the same?? Have there been any forecasts??

Had crowds from 10k up to around 15k I think, this game will get the usual 10-15k whatever capacity is bar one of their massive downpours occurring before the game.

Depends if it's played at the SCG will sell out if played ANZ most prob around 50k mark but I also agree with Wookie - in 2012 we go 57k so again it depends who it is and what conditions are like - incidentally aside from the GF when has an NRL final got more than 57k recently???

Yes swines it's true. The AFL simply won't and can't fill anz. It's just not gunna happen. Sad... But true.

Don't really worry about it - they will still get more than ANY NRL final except the GF!

Why is it sad? How many teams of any sport could fill an 80k stadium against an interstate team? Even Collingwood woul struggle

And what about the battle of the buttplug, G dubbya S vs sydney? They're both sydney teams. And as our resident nut job AFL supporters will say sydney swans are the biggest team in nsw and g dubbya s are alweady bigger than many nrl teams. Why couldn't they fill stadium australia? Why, they couldn't even half fill it and since the game has been scuttled back to the boutique stadium, the outside dunny in comparison :lol:

Unfortunately my fellow marngrook supporting fans we must, yes we must come to the conclusion that the AFL will never fill our biggest stadium in sydney, in fact we'd be lucky to see it two thirds full in our, our children's and grandchildren a lifetime. It is sad but, my friends, we must live with it and acknowledge it. :cry:

More than likely won't get 38k to NRL final this year and definitely won't get 57k!

a-league all stars vs juventus in a couple days, about 68k tickets sold as of this morning, DT expecting it to sell out via walkups if weather is good

will be the 3rd time in barely over a year that soccer has drawn 80k+ crowds to ANZ (socceroos vs iraq, allstars vs man uted and HOPEFULLY allstars vs juve!)

when the giants start getting on a roll, eventually they'll get to a point where they play the swans in the finals or whatever and that game will sell out anz. dunno when but its inevitable

They are, however the giants are in their infancy and only have around 10k members.

So again, show me ANY club from ANY sport in Australia that can fill an 80k stadium with only one local team. The fact that the swans have managed crowds over 50k is mind boggling
