We talk about crowds because they are consistently higher in the AFL than any other sport, even in non some heartland regions.

Ok so let's look at this weekends crowds shall we

12800 at Brookvale
11800 at ANZ
12800 at Shark Park
15000 at Townsville
13000 at Alliance
7000 at Canberra
11500 at Cairns (which for Cairns I would accept as good)

Oh yeah going great!!?? Hahahaha
Have a one off game with perhaps 50k or 40k

Meanwhile when it comes to a game Sydney siders will go to each home game the answer is simple ........ The Sydney Swans 32000 average home crowd, 40000 members says it all really!!!!!!

Hahahaha

total of Sydney peepers who'll watch the SWines tonight ( both at the ground & on TV )
about 80K ... maybe 90K at a stretch

total who'll watch the 2 NRL games tonight
650K

thank you linesmen
thank you ball boys

What are you saying there is more dole bludgers in Sydney and they all follow the NRL???? Because surely someone who follows a club will part with their hard earned to support their team???? Nope not in Sydney all free loaders and wind bags - yet there is STILL 40k members with the Swans 8k more than ANY NRL club - 32k average crowd attendance 10k more than the nearest Sydney based NRL club - they receive loads more in sponsorship, merchandising and total football related revenue than ANY Sydney or even ANY RL club in Australia - yet your ONLY point is tv ratings - you can have all the free loading dole Bludging supporters you want - The Swans will keep the ones that count!!!!!
The fact of the matter is rl is a proud working class game. In comparison the swans and AFL in sydney is enjoyed by the minority, with a significant portion of their members being upperclass snobs and snobettes, who've not played nor know much bout the game but are keen to let their workmates know what they did on the weekend, which realistically was to drink Chardonnay and talk to others whilst not watching the footy.

On the other hand the working class masses live love and breath their rl, even when they can't afford the memberships. I know who I'd prefer on my side ;)

Has any match been played yet?

No.

So how the fuck would that mob know what crowds will turn up anywhere?

The S15 final is on as well, that will be taking plenty of people away from both RL and AFL this weekend as it's an event.

The Swans crowd could very well be bigger than the TV ratings in Sydney, you think that's good?
Okay, now that the matches have been played, let's get this show on the road. The Swans did indeed record a bigger crowd than 2 nRL games COMBINED. So right off the bat, here, have one of these:

And look, the TV ratigs in Sydney were bigger than the crowd at the game.

In terms of bums on seats, seems that the Swans are the hottest ticket in town at the moment (now that the Tah's season is over of course).
