tv rights deals world wide for every sport have been increasing - even for sports like american ice hockey, formula 1 and european basketball that have suffered from decreasing ratings and a stall in growth number wise, their rights continue to go up in value so i wouldn't say it'll be the end of billion dollar deals for our codes in this country. way too early to say that tbh

As sport is live advertises want it as captive audience ... People generally don't want to tape games if they don't have to

the price will keep climbing in broad cast deals, but when will it be to much that networks will pay no more. the next lot is meant to be from 1.6 billion to 2.0 billion. revenue from FTA tv has been falling for years & will continue to do so. in saying that with improvements in internet & mobile internet, streaming services has become available.
