Agree. Although it's not a good look when the sport promotes hitting blokes on field.

Yep..... According to The fumblers if a person wearing a jersey or in DERPBalls case a XXXXXS mens singlet do any wrongdoing it is the fault of the sport..
Tell me Piesman ,are the continuing Racial problems in AFL because Eddie McRacist can get away with it.

Is it the fault of the Syd Pink Sheilas that some bloke in a swans singlet innappropriatley touched a celeb.

Can we put that one down to Mickey O & his hush money.

& KE posted you had some sense.
It appears not .
Racial problems are an issue for both codes. Neither code condones the behaviour and they are both doing their best to stop it happening at their grounds.
If you want to talk about players doing the wrong thing both codes have lots so why bother starting that conversation.
As to me having no sense. If that is coming from you I don't really have any problem with you saying that.

Now this guy was going around the streets of king cross randomly hitting blokes in the back of the head. He ended up killing one of his victims and then lied to police. I did a little research on this guy because I was shocked with how light the guy got off. What I learnt was that when the police arrested this guy the next day you would never guess where they piked him up. He was at a coaching clinic being held by the Canterbury Bulldogs.
Now this is probably old news to the RL supporters on this site. But wow thats just crazy. One night he is punching blokes on the streets and the next he is hanging out with his role models who do the same on the field. Just another reason why the image of RL isn't great. Now I'm not knocking the sport which is good in a lot of ways, just the attitude that its cool to punch blokes because you feel like it.

I thought I said or at least hinted that the AFL wasn't responsible for all of those things you talked about. The AFL does its best to prevent these sort of issues although in my opinion they often do a poor job.
As to the rest feel free to point out where I say that RL 100% responsible and is totally to blame for Kieran Loveridge doing what he did. I may have hinted that the sports attitude to the biff could be a factor in this guys life choices. Feel free to say that there was no possibility that this may have been the case.
However in other posts I have said that people are responsible for their own actions. Now this guy might have been a poor example to use and I'm happy to cop a wack for that from the RL supporters on this site. However that doesn't change RLs love of the biff or that the players that are involved in the biff are role models for young men, both the intelligent ones and the stupid ones.
The biff in league is just another reason why your image stinks (see thread title).

Feel free to agree with me on this last point or disagree. That's your call. Or if you want to you can focus on what every other RL supporter has so far and claim that im blaming League for all the violence around the country ( ok i exaggerated on that last sentence).

Damn some people love to twist words. Even crappers own interpretation of what I said (it's pretty much accurate by the way), doesn't say that RL is responsible for the the initial attacks. It just says "that its bad for their image" and Im happy to stand by that. Was it a dig a RL like you suggested? Of course it was. So what, if you support the biff on field then you are doing the wrong thing. Done with the debate over an interpretation of three sentences. Straight to the troll.

Image

P.S here's a tip to help you crapper. If you want someone to answer a question. Try finishing up with a question mark. It will help, It removes any confusion. I'm only saying that because you demanded an answer. You got that? Ok done with the troll.

P.P.S If you want to have a real conversation (I got the impression that you did from some of your earlier posts, I will probably even agree with some of the things you say about AFL) and I'm happy to do so in the future. It's your call. Make a thread about McGuire or OLaughlin and try not to use the usual cliché put downs. I find this site gets quite boring when everyone just wants to shit on the other persons sport.

So far it's been deflection after deflection. The only RL supporter who tried to answer the questions I have asked has been RD.
So does any other RL supporter think that the biff in league is a bad example to set for young men, because it promotes the use of brute force as a valid way to settle every day issues?
Is the biff one of the factors that affects the image of RL?
Is the biff responsible for some juniors not being allowed to play league?

BBTB was started by Reg Reagen (A parody of a bogan supporter),Just like bogan supporters with no teeth are associated with Collingwood.
Does that mean that the NRL or most fans want it?. NO
But that is what your post was trying to portray.
& when you cant answer
the questions I put to you about AFL you go the deflection or TROLL route.

& to put it quite simply..
You were suggesting that punching people on field is a normal thing .hence the bad image, hence why some dickhead would go & do it in the street.
Punching is a rarity on field these days, yet your post would have someone believe that it is a big part of a game.

If you are going to have a shot at RL ,then don't backpedal when the crap in your game is brought up.

Why does rl have this image as alluded to in the article ? That's my question as yes, there are dickheads in all sport yet rl is seen as a bogans sport . Have the AFL done a better job managing it's image and trademark. ?

Good post. Your the first one to say that punching guys is a rarity now days and that most supporters don't want it. You know your sport much better the me and from all the reports I have see at least the NRL have made an excellent effort to reduce the violence. You are also probably right in that most supporters don't want the fights as well, however last year KE and RD went on after last years origin, like the biff was the best thing ever and you can probably see after you read the rest of the post, why I thought differently. Here are a few examples.

Just fantastic seeing these men stick up for one another so proudly.

I still feel for those playing AFL footy where, in a contact sport, players are suspended for weeks for standing up for their teammates or themselves. :?
A bit of trolling by KE I'm sure and in some ways i was looking to draw him into the conversation.

As to back-pedalling. I'm here on this thread to discuss the image of RL. You can bring AR into it if you want (and I'm happy to talk briefly about it ) but what this has to do with the image of RL, I have no idea. Feel free to start another thread on the issues of AR. Its a common method of deflection on this site to start talking about AFL players doing the wrong thing to try to change the topic. You can say that I'm trying to deflect all you want but imo, the deflection started when people start bringing up stuff unrelated to the thread topic.
