Sorry guys I got Haynes 15 year old time wrong. It's 11.3 not 11.5 seconds he clocked for the hundred metres way back then making him a few extra strides quicker than I first thought, when he was 15 compared to gazza in his prime of manhood.

Hayne is no stranger to the track, having posted a personal best time of 13.1 seconds for the 100m hurdles while attending Westfield Sports High School. The flying fullback, who idolised sprinter Matt Shirvington and hurdler Kyle Vander-Kuyp while growing up, was clocked at 11.3 seconds over the flat distance as a 15-year-old. Melbourne superstar Billy Slater has expressed interest as well.

Sorry I don't buy it. Many players could run a short distance at high speeds. Many. But to burn rubber for 100metres at sub 11second times like many nrl players? That's real speed. Unfortunately gazza Ablett and most his AFL colleagues just aren't conditioned for it. It's pretty basic knowledge the rugby league speedsters are bounds ahead of their AFL counterparts. They're also stronger, tougher, more agile etc. swines you agree yet buddyo?

it wasn't a short distance, it was recorded when robben chased down a through ball from sneijder and outpaced 2 defenders to get onto it before scoring

he ran a solid 70 metres all up - it was brilliant actually

the only thing i can say is that if hayne theoretically collects the ball from his own dead ball line, makes a line break and scores a try from there then there might not be an AFL comparison as they generally kick the ball instead of make ground by running at full pace(they also have to bounce the ball i think but i dont know the rules exactly)

so yeah. but im sure they might spring 30-40m in one go? there fields a bigger i guess

NRL players are burst players, sprint 20 to 30 meters not where near endurance athletes,

Abblett is an elite endurance athlete who is not known for his speed,
dangerfield is the quickest player in the league and runs the 100m in the low 10s

Oh and I also said I could list 30+ players in the nrl who are faster, stronger, more powerful, tougher and more agile athletes than the AFL's greatest ever player, gazza abbles. So here's another

Did you see Hayne against the Storm utterly pathetic - Ablett always plays well - Hayne pathetic he ran just 30 meters from the 30 try line in sight and run out of puff!!! What a joke, couldn't pick the ball up in the in zone - what a pathetic tosser - and this is who ur putting Ablett up against hahaha priceless!

Funny thing is if you ask either AFL or nrl players they both have a healthy respect for each other and their respective skill. It's only the nuff nuffs in here that seem to want to make a competition of it.

In terms of athleticism, rugby leagues fastest are faster, strongest (well every rl player actually) are stronger, most powerful (well every rl player actually) more powerful, tough well all of em are way tougher, and most agile are more agile than yer AFL players. These are components of athleticism not specific skills you silly twats
