Actually that's where your wrong, NZ, GB, Sth Africa, Canada and PNG all have junior comps - Ireland and Denmark have very strong domestic comps - so to come 3rd was a very good achievement!
What's a junior comp, 10 kids of expats coming together for a kick of the ball?
WTF are you doing here? To be educated?
NZ has 30k participants in junior school based competitions.
RSA has 20k odd participants in junior mostly school based competitions.
GB has established junior school based competitions.
Canada has established community and junior school based competitions.
USA has some participants in community and junior school based competitions.
PNG is big in community junior competitions.
The strict guidlines of the AFL International Cup ensure it that is held in high esteem
not like that joke of a rlwc.

30k in NZ i could believe, probably a little exaggerated. But the 20k SA figure is absolute BS.
The rest would have 10k all up. max.
Agreed parra, this one will really help consolidate and grow RL in France/UK. Next we need a NZ/Aus one then hopefully we can look at expanding to SA or a North America one in 10 years.

Show us that the SA figures are BA - after all it was nominated as the new code for the new South Africa - there's been a lot of development in the townships and has grown considerably!

So you truly are ignorant.
Ok. Here's the deal. I'll prove the the 20k participants in the RSA and you agree to shut up.
Agreed.

if you're just gonna link that article where some guy goes, "estimates of 20k" or some bs like that then that's not proof.
i bet they just trailed it in PE in a few schools then counted the entire school, rounded up and called it 20k.

if 20,000 were playing aussie rules in SA, then why are they so bad in the AFL Cup thing, no players from there, and very little photgraphic or video evidence of these mythical TENS OF THOUSANDS of SA aussie rules players...
Why should I take one person's biased comment on AFL numbers as fact?

especially considering the record aussie rules match in SA had 10k people there Brisbane vs Freemantle in Cape Town in 1998, and then when you say OH but that was 15 years ago. Well no aussie rules match there has broken that record yet....

Maybe because they live in the black townships - but there is a full time development officer a senior and junior comps and players coming out here every year!
