No matter what delusional visions some Rugby League supporters have for their sport the fact is; it's bleeding out and the code is flogging a dead horse. It's boring to watch, it's boring to play and its only success is that it is a giant breeding ground for low socioeconomic people...

Suns are going great. I would say their supporter base and presence (in media and seeing jumpers stickers etc) has grown every year. I think as it was a start up club rather than a relocated club the community has taken ownership of it as they have watched their club grow.

Just to show how two codes get on well and it's just the backward hicks that see AFL as the enemy

We expanded into SA and WA with the national competition. That's what I was talking about, demented Dave! Oh and the Swans and the Bears/Lions! The Suns and the Giants are bonus material capitalising on that initial expansion! And what has the NRL done? Brisbane and Canberra, then Melbourne and NZ? Where are Adelaide and Perth huh?

I wouldn't waste my breath on this gutless piece of filth - won't admit when he's wrong- makes up facts - slanders other posters - is complete human garbage - should be banned indefinitely! He knows he's wrong, and knows AFL will be here for a long time - so gutless won't apply the same tests on RL that he applies to the AFL - has no balls and is just a whiny bitch!

The school choose to put AFL posts up and put in a lot of money as well.

Dave, the war is over, everyone has settled. On the Gold Coast no one cares... They support both. My point re suns doing well was not to do with on field success but how they have been embraced by this region. As I said, radio, tv, leads news often, print and the locals I work with, play sport with, drink with... All have an interest in the suns, some are members, most have been to a few games. I only know 1 person who Hayes AFL and he is a union man.

League , at a local level, is seen as the bogans sport for many ... That's just the way it is.

you feel a little upset, now is it a be trail that news limtd sold its part owner ship in the NRL :(/

the article is only pointing out the facts. your only up set buy it that its not pro bias towards the NRL, like most newsltd articles

this conspericy that the AFL controls News limitd, only proves how ******** you are, during its part owner ship of the NRL got a very easy ride, & a lot of free coverage

Expanding in what, viewers, money or area covered? Because youre wrong on all fronts. Seem to recall more people watching the NRL GF in melbourne than AFL GF in sydney, neither cities had teams in the other GF and that's DESPITE sydney having an extra 0.7 million people.

Next would obviously be New Zealand, we set up a team there and we are playing NRL nines early next year. Cool 2 million prize money, and also the RLWC which will help expand the game primarily in England but also other nations.

And we will expand to Perth and/or consolidate QLD.
