I think less & ... less & .... less is going into the VFL's fund shithead .... they are plugging holes all ova the shop
the Thuns
the Midgets
Melbourne
Port Shatmedaks
the Paddle pop wions
115 Million in club debt
the NRL has no such issues & a lot more cash then it did
these claims that 14 NRL clubs don't make money overlook 2 things
the losses aren't great
& their Leagues clubs wind the debt back to nil for them.... each year
NRL clubs revenues are increasing & their expenditure is under control
they won't need leagues club bail outs for much longer ... they will all be self sufficient inside the next decade
same can't be said for the fumbles & bumbles
the VFL is funding clubs struggling financially all ova the shop
they may have put 30 mill in their future fund a few years back
but I'd doubt it would be 3 Million these days .....
VFL... dying

Their futures fund of 30 mil, plus costs of expansion are taken into account before calculating their profit fwit!
Unlike the NRL who brag about a profit BEFORE costing any expansion projects

their future fund contributions are nearly zip pal
because of the expansion clubs & many others being stoney broke ... they have no leagues clubs to take the pressure off the VFL like NRL clubs do
the VFL is spending very close to its income these days on everything else bar its future fund
a pittance would be going in
the NRL has no clubs with their hands out bleeding like stuck pigs
it has no oxygen thieve expansion clubs
it has more income then it ever has
it has whopped the VFL after just one year of its new media deal

& we all know why
because they actually don't

the AFL has hundards of millions set aside in its future fund, it will own etihad stadium outright in 2025 & shares in other major stadiums around the country.
does nothing to invest
only 2 club in the NRL are financial interdependent, the broncos, thanks to their mini casino leagues club & only nrl team in the city
& the cowboys
the other 14 clubs even with their leagues clubs & hand outs from the NRL still cant break even, the bulldogs have the largerst football operating budget of the clubs in Sydney, Bulldogs $16.5 million compared with the smallest teams in the AFL GWS - $28,500,000* & St Kilda - $30,846,816.
the NRL clubs run on half the budget on AFL clubs, have monstrosity pokie filled leagues clubs & still rely on hand outs from the nrl.

then you have basket cases like the crunlla sharks who cant even find a major sponser.
the nrl is so far behind the times its not funny
Only two clubs – the Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys – can claim to be financially self-sufficient from footballing revenues – sponsorship, merchandise, gate receipts and the NRL grant. The other 14 clubs all require regular cash injections from between $1 million and $5 million from supporting leagues clubs or generous backers just to break even. This is not sustainable in the long run.

many tens of millions more spent on the Wions .... Poort oh so Poor t Twatelaide .. just to keep them afloat **** others

Prove that the AFL has touched the future fund, Dave. Oh yeah, you can't!
Do you know what property values are in West Lakes? I guess not.
Note - I erred on the 50K average for the whole AFL. I was referring to the average at the MCG for the home and away season.

you showed me a VFL wank piece from 2 years ago
full of projections & strategies
but short on facts
or substance
Like I said
nice plans
shame about the reality

Reality is they costed the suns and giants expansions in their budget independent of their futures fund

Complete hogwash. The suns were far more financial and independent than the AFL predicted, breaking even after only a few seasons. The giants have struggled as expected and as budgeted.

Over the previous five years, from 2007 to 2011, the AFL had established a Financial Future Fund. This Future Fund had a balance of $89.4 million at the end of the 2011 financial year. The same balance remains at the end
of the 2012 financial year, with no additional funds added or any funds spent from this fund during the yea

Read It and weep. The futures fund is not used to bankroll either the giants or the suns. Their finances are independently secured.
