You participate in a touch footy school carnival, all of a sudden you're classified as a rugby league player!
Fudging rl player numbers doesn't make it a big sport.

Lol, the AFL doesn't have a bastardised hybrid version of football. Touch football is completely different to rl. The fact that the nRL want to combine the 2 just so it can say more people play "rugby league" is pathetic, and proof that fuck all people play actual rugby league in this country. With these so called merger, we will only see more people deciding to take up touch and less playing actual rl. Better hope the Pacific Islands keep on producing players, because in 20 years time junior rugby league will be almost completely wiped out in Australia.

The nRL include junior backyard league numbers, yet still get smashed by the AFL. That's just the way it is. The only way the nRL can try and get higher numbers is to include participants form a completely different sport altogether!
Like I said before, more people as a result of this will play touch, while rl will die a slow death at club level.

It's funny because in the past Dementedave said that participation numbers don't matter to a sports overall popularity, and he'd turn to soccer and say they have huge playing numbers but at the pro level it's still tiny.
Now all of a sudden when rugby league has to merge with a completely different sport (the pathetic sport that rl is) in an attempt to say "more people play rl", all of a sudden participation numbers do matter to the dunce?
When will Dementedave stop failing? :_<>

Four times, Dave "Allen"????
Someone strap him to a lie detector, and watch it go off the dial with that one! Auskick IS a game of football with some modifications to the rules for the kids. Dave wouldn't know because he's never ever seen it.
