Isn't that the same reply you posted yesterday Queen-Eliagh, good to see ur up to your usual standard. Anything original or are you still trolling looking for Assraiders comments so you can use them? You guys post at roughly the same time - is there a reason for this?

Yes, it is the same reply...because you've posted yet another random, wacked comment out of context.

Do you even know what thread you're posting in swines me boy?

And how's the closet today? Warm?

I'm sorry swines but I cant believe you. Dave's last post was around 5pm on the Friday. And your reply to him, where "those other posts got in prior whilst (you) were posting", was approx 22hours later?

I'm sorry you're a bit dumb but I dont believe it takes you 22 hours to think up and write all of 15 words. And even if this was true, your comment still doesnt make sense in light of daves last comment!

No I think my assertion is the correct one here. You dont even know what thread you're posting in

After a few beers either do I . Each thread turns into personal insults after the usual nrl trying to say AFL isn't doing as well as they think , denying actual figures and facts , and my code is better than yours as if it makes a difference . Fact is AFL has more members, higher crowds both in numbers and averages , higher tv ratings and more money in Australia .... Nrl is more popular in most of NSW and probably all if qld but AFL has a strong presence in Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney, but is no threat to nrl in Sydney or Brisbane. Both codes attract different body types as, shock horror , they are totally different games . And as they are different some people prefer one game to the other, but some people actually don't mind the other code either. And here's a fact, if you need to degenerate another code to say yours is better, you're probably clutching at straws... Of course some do it for the fun of baiting . Anyway that's my say. Doesn't matter what thread this is in as they all end up the same. Oh , and calling someone gay or homosexual is no longer a slur ... Welcome to 2013 if you didn't know that already .....

To many RL supporters in denial in terms of official figures. No doubt there's a lot of trolling going on just for the reaction. In my opinion both codes are doing very well at the moment and apart from a few minor ups and downs mostly due to on field performance I see both codes growing in their non heartland states. I think the issue with most RL supporters is that they feel that they have copped a lot of crap from AFL supporters over the years and now that their code is doing better they can finally get some pay back. Good luck to all of them when I say. Come at me bitches you all got nothing.

If you lived in Sydney during the 80's the anti AFL is the as what the NRL are showing - not because they know anything about it but because they see it as a threat (which it isn't). They are very insecure! The fact that both codes will be here long after we are pushing up daisy's is immaterial to them - they want to believe that AFL is dying so they have some take some strange joy from that fact. The pitty is what they are really doing is turning people off the sport. But like I said its a Sydney thing - if you listen to SEN 1116 am (AFL owned) you will see that this AFL hatred that Sydney shows does not work the other way with the NRL and Melbourne. In fact they have nothing but good things to say-its just Sydney siders insecurity.

All very interesting folks, thankyou for your consideration. Its all a little narrow minded but...still...somewhat considered. So good trying you guys! :thumbleft:

Now back on topic. Dave's right, the AFL is dying in QLD. Its on a downwards spiral so to speak. Its 'losing it'. It appears to have 'had its day'. Its 'paddling up shit creek without a paddle'.

Now in line with what you chumpos are saying, I dont think it will ever die out in QLD, there'll always be a few games going on and atleast 1 professional team. IMO 1 professional club in QLD is all that is sustainable at this point in time. The head honchos at the AFL made their expansion decision solely on the type of research pies considers the be all and end all. Numbers. They looked at SE QLD and GWS and thought because there's large numbers of people there it'll 'just work'. Sorry but its much more important to have an existing culture before spending 200 million and throwing yourself in the deep end. Darwin or Tassie were the sensible options at this point in time. In the long run the AFL is going to lose a considerable amount of dosh, enough to possibly end world hunger [-X , for launching itself into a market place that does not have a strong marngrook culture.

Because of this the code will need to go down before it can go up....and the downward slides in these 2 new markets willprob continue for about 30years or so unless the AFL pulls out and aborts mission quickly.

I hope all this doesnt upset you guys too much. Its horribly sad what the impacts of dumb planning are but just hang in there guys. Its gunna be lean times with little to celebrate re expansion for many decades to come. I suggest if you havent already had some, try having some children so atleast your kin might see happier days.

With deepest sympathy,

KE :)

Ahhh KE trying to act superior . X love your form, a but predictable but hey... It's you.

I think Gold Coast already had a good AFL culture .. For whatever reason, but it does and was crying out for a team . As for western Sydney I think you'll find the AFL were of the opinion that if they don't get in there when they did then they would miss out big time. I think it was because if the lack of hardly any AFL presence that the need arose to get in there and soon. I believe they saw the threat of soccer, saw the potential of soccer , and thought shit !!! Nrl had and always will have a massive presence , especially if the nrl get smart and cut some teams from the area, fortunately they haven't been that forward thinking and continue to dilute the western Sydney market. Soccer got smart and saw what the AFL saw ... And look at the results. I do think the giants have made several mistakes... But the AFL had put in years if work prior to them starting. Including negotiating with developers to put AFL size ovals and posts in new estates, and in schools. Working with schools to put the sport into curriculum etc. also heavily finding local competitions and providing expertise. But yes I think the giants are touch and go. They want go but you may see large changes in strategy. They may change their name , move to Canberra or associate more with Canberra thus moving more away from western Sydney. I would like to see more community consultation ala wonderers however I think wonderers already had a culture if soccer . So getting back to it, that lack of AFL culture in western Sydney is exactly why the AFL put a team there.
