And today I have been through the AFL drug code. There is a very strong argument that is does cover James Hird, and in fact any official of a club.On this, the AFL drug code is unequivocal in that it applies to officials. Page eight says it applies to officials. Page five describes what an official is: “An official means coach, trainer, manager etc.”
So Neil Mitchell could argue that James Hird has broken an AFL code of ethics. Hird right now would be quaking in his boots about that fine he might get from the AFL for that one.

a fine ?

if he were in the NRL he'd be run out of the game for life ....

For taking a legal supplement? They better start rounding up every NRL player in the game then.

What's he guilty of? He's not bound by the WADA restrictions. He is no longer a pro athlete. It's not an illegal drug. You can buy it just about anywhere.

I might have to get me some of this stuff

If Hird gets done it will be for dodgy practice, through keeping the club doctor out of the link and for putting to much trust in dank. He wont be done for PEDs he is taking legally.

Today's news suggests Hirdy boy was taking supplements which are illegal for use amongst players.

Whatta Coach! Add that to the dodgy behaviour of shutting out club doctors, and Danks and other Essendon club personnels expressed concerns and we have a 98%chance ol Hirdy boy is a crook of the highest order, desperate to 'win at all costs'.

Xman I can picture you now kneeling against your bed before going to sleep last night...

Dear God...and Andrew Demitriou, please, please help our coach James Hird get through this. I dont care if he's done wrong, its important for the AFL and the sport for ol golden boy James Hird to be innocent, even if he's as guilty as can be. I've ignorantly taught my kids he's a pillar of society and I've already said I dont care what Hirdy has done in regards to his personal drug use to the folks down at Talking Footy. I'm in a really tough spot here God and Andrew [-o< please, please make all this go away :? [-o<

Xman's wife who'd just come out of the shower and overheard him while standing in the doorway:
 :puke:

Rabbit found that the coach is under the same regs as the players.

And the coach shut out the club doctor.

And club staff have insinuated he's a dodgy dodgy fella.

Add it all up and keep on prayin Xman

Not quite. Rabbit found an article in which the author claimed (lets make sure i use his words) he could "argue a case " that coaches fall under the same rules as players according to AFL rules (not a WADA rule) Since then we have heard crickets on that, with every other journalist saying that he didnt fall under the WADA rules.
Dont get confused KE. " Argue a case" is far from "he definatly broke the rules".

Richard Ings from ASADA claimed Hird had NOT breached WADA or AFL policy, even if he had taken the substances Dank claimed. Of course Hird is denying this anyway, and deserves to have his say. But Coaches are allowed to take substances that are banned for players. That makes perfect sense given many common and important medications are in that categorie, like sudafed, ventolin, amongst others. What coaches are not allowed to do is supply banned substances to players or encourage them to take banned substances.

Get your facts right dumbarse
