midgets staff were also handing out freebies to the battle of the boggers at the easter show bearsy .... like confetti ... all week apparently
I was at the Easter Show yesterday before the game. All that was being handed out was a pamphlet about the game. No free tickets in sight. More BS from Raiderdave.

Why wasn't it full / sold out if as you say it is so small in capacity. Don't NRL fans care about this local derby anymore? Surely it should have been a sellout yeah?

Fact remains of the two local derbies in Sydney last night, the AFL had a bigger crowd than the NRL.

The Wanderers own Parramatta Stadium in just their first season and are already looking for a bigger stadium. What an embarrassing lot the NRL and Parramatta Eels have become. 13k for the Eels vs sellout crowds for the Wanderers.

its assured isn't it ...
Sell out doesnt mean full. Are you really so stupid you don't know this?
Unfortunately he is. Not every seat was taken up at the nRL grand final, so I guess in Raiderdave's fucked up mind it wasn't a sell out? What a minda

Never mind the poor state of the surface last night, we had bought a group of 10 tickets on level 1 middle of the ground in a prime viewing position. Get to the ground and they decided to not open that part of the ground after selling tickets for it. We had to line up in a long queue after entering the stadium and get allocated restricted viewing down near the fence near where they roll the grandstand back. Could not see the goals at one end. The tickets cost over $60 dollars. What a joke. All the staff could say was lodge a complaint.
this was just posted on BF by a swans supporter! No wonder swans fans didnt turn out in big numbers to watch yesterday's game in general admission!

same question to you about the VFL game ... except replace 100% full ... with just ... 30%   , the fumbleball couldn't even get ANZ featuring the premiers ... a 3rd full & you want to bag a crowd at a tiny suburban ground that was 95% full

20,130 payers at Shark Park ... junior passes not honoured there yesterday representing just 25% of Sydney's NRL clubs
15,000 at ANZ... stadium members & freebies padding it hugely , representing 100% of Sydneys VFL clubs

the Wanderers .... minor premiers of the A League
avearged just 12,700 at Parramatta stadium
the Parramatta eels ... wooden spooners of the NRL
averaged over 13,000 at the same venue

the eels have filled Parramatta stadium to its capacity over the years on probably 50 occasions & no one ever talked about them out growing it
the Wanderers have not filled Parramatta ... once
their derby crowds were both 19,500 .. Parras capacity is 20,500
& yet they need a bigger stadium ?
:-k

but hey whatever ... a 40K all seater somewhere in Sydney west will only Benefit the NRL in the long run .... so its all good

I'll repeat my previous analogy of what Dave is arguing:

This is like a cripple trying to ridicule Usain Bolt for running the 100m slightly slower than his previous race.
This is akin to a mute insulting Adele for missing a note.

Let's do a direct comparison. The Swans are Premiers, the Storm are premiers.

The Swans are premiers, they play an AWAY game in round 1, with their members having to buy tickets, there are other nRL games on in Sydney that weekend - 23k
The Storm are premiers, they play a HOME game in round 1, their members get free entry, there are no other AFL games on in Melbourne that weekend - 16k

Swans fans > Storm fans.

premiers in 2006 .... 60K plus for games
premiers in 2013 .... barely a third of that figure

it should matter not who was playing
or who's home game it is
excuses along these lines are as pathetic as it gets

it shows the decline .. the near unstoppable decline ... of the fumbles & bumbles ... in our nations largest city
