Secondly, if you had a brain in your head, you would realise that if the ARLC were willing to lose out financially then the NRL would've been completely fta.
Yeah and that sums up the NRL's position.
NRL could easily go FTA but would rather a return for their product, maybe later down the track the NRL will setup something similar to Aus.
The AFL's positions is so week they cant even get FTA off the ground..............

Isn't that the whole point !!! Taking the AFL to a new market and testing the waters, growing it there a little ? If they AFL wanted to play it safe they would have out a team in tassie. AFL has as much a market in Sydney as they do in NZ 30 years ago. Now look at Sydney (despite Dave running around with hands over ears saying over and over that it had no market), it has a niche market and a decent following . And despite the media being poor, you can actually read about the AFL in the papers and the swans get a mention on the nightly sports report from time to time. And unlike melbourne with nrl, if you live in sydney there are plenty of AFL junior clubs to choose from should your son want to play AFL. Could the AFL garner a tiny bit of interest in AFL I say 60 years ? Just putting toe on the water.

Just think with annual TV coverage, AFL games being played in Wellington and the great support of Wellington Council and the PM, AFL will expand greatly. Their gunna love it!

NZ is a rugby league market and puts millions into the ARLC coffers.
The day the AFL start getting payed for TV rights is the day you will be able to add ratings for NZ otherwise just accept NZ is a NRL market clearly anybody with a clue would realize that the NZ warriors play in the NRL......
And judging by the way you singlet wearers have been carrying on about the Swans Stkilda clash at wellington tells me it is a valuable market worth a heap of money to the AFL.
Shame the game is a circus act or a frankinstein game to the Kiwi's.................

It was their PM that made the comments maybe their not as stupid as people in parramatta, maybe they don't feel threatened at the mere mention of Australian Rules Football, maybe Rugby Union people are smarter than Rugby League people after all RU is their sport of choice.

Unfortunately the AFL is still tied with the nRL for FTA coverage in NZ. Don't worry, we'll be on FTA soon enough.
