SO youre ignoring Sunday games because theyre an hour or so delayed LIKE ADELAIDE AND PERTH GET for AFL EVERY FN?

[-X [-X One of these Sunday games achieved just 6k!

Including the Storm's Sunday games only makes up for the fact that many Giants games were Saturday afternoon, the lowest rating period, and they rarely had a prime time game.

So, sorry Dave, no sirry [-X

Storm average home and away ratings 27k

Giants 32K

Storm do not get every game televised on FTA so until that happens, wtf are you arguing over their averages when it is plainly clear that they could with a full 5 seasons on FTA tv rate anywhere (atm) from 10k+ up to 202k (which they had on a Fri night a few years ago)?

Dumbares, and that's on both sides.

Once the victtards know they are on each week, they can then make up their own mind if they'll be watching and yes, we'll all be around on the net either laughing one way or the other at the storm or Vfl infiltrators North of the Murray..

As for SA and WA, well they'll have to wait until they get teams, it'd be like someone looking for the Newcastle ratings from the Vfl GF, why would you even bother?

When comparing the Melbourne Storm ratings to Swans, how many Storm games are Friday night matches? That's the highest rating slot for both codes and I believe the Storm had more Friday night matches than the Swans did in 2012. Comparing both Swans and Storm Friday night matches for TV ratings would be a better comparison even with the Swans FTA ratings hindered by Fox Footy simulcasts.

Perth and Adelaide ratings are still important as they are a part of the 5 city average, the only reason nRL folk don't like discussing their ratings is because of the abysmal figures these cities produce for the foreign sport.

Youve quoted 220k as possible ratings for the storm but wasnt that also for a one off game? Melbourne got used to NRL on FN and Sunday this year. Ratings were consistently poor which shows TV ratings in expansion markets never compare to the homeland product no matter which sport. But as a comparison the AFL performed far better which suggests AFL is more popular in RL states compared to the other way

But but but but but.

Give them a frigging chance in a timeslot people know about, they'll find their spot just like the swans and Lions did on Saturday nights and the newest clubs hidden away during the weekend daylight spots.

Is everything a fucking argument with you?

The NRL should have fought hard to get the Storm a FTA time slot in the last TV deal only into Vic at least for every away match if not for all matches. It would have cost them a few million but in the end would have done wonders for the local support in the long term. A failed oppotunity. But at least they have regular RL into Vic, SA and WA now which is a good thing.

Exactly. The AFL compromised on their TV rights cash amount to ensure their expansion teams were shown into their home markets every game. The NRL took the cash and said screw you to the fans.

Ummm Pies, that would have meant less money for the nRL. And we all know the nRL's stance on this issue... maximum money no matter what and fuck everything else. [-X

Yeah right, you guys know it all but when it comes to facts, you are left wanting.

Tell me, how could the NRL from 1998 till 2012 tell 9 or fox what too do, didn't both orgs have first and last rights, thus they could offer what the hell they wanted and the NRL had to take it?

Ahhhh yes, you dumbarses forgot that one as well.

Hmmm, those clauses are gone now, the real battle begun when the ones mentioned above lost all their power over the game, but you guys continue talking shit, it's quite entertaining actually.

Ever noticed why the Storm were treated as they were?

It's because 9 and fox used them, fox got the pay tv ratings each week, and 9 had a team in Vic that they didn't have to promote one little bit, a win win for both in the money stakes.

That has all just changed now, so vicctards that like to whinge about a sport they hate and they can't watch on FTA, you can't continue crying anymore because you will be able to watch them and other teams you despise each and every week, so harden the fuck up.

No, you tell Ch9 for the better of your comp that all storm games are live into Melbourne. When they say "only for a lower deal" you say "fine", less money now but more growth of the game and a healthier comp in the long run.

All we hear from NRL supporters is that the growth of RL is stunted in Melbourne because of the poor FTA TV coverage. Well grow some balls and demand it, even if it costs you.

There we go again you just can't deal with facts, there is no but but but at all because these things happened, it was called the Super League War.

Maybe you should look it up.

Ch9 for years had shares in Fox Sports when Packer was around because that was part of the compromise when the ARL/SL got back together and it's only when they did get back together that the Melbourne Storm came about by killing off generations of foundation club supporters and clubs that were at a critical stage in their new growth. Why do you think he and Murdoch could do what they liked with the code, would it have something to do with them being in complete control?

Wake up, why do you think the ARLC is here now and why do you think they done everything they could to get rid of the first/last Media rights that these two organisations had?

You say the NRL went for the money blah blah blah BULLSHIT, I say I don't give a fuck what they done, they got Great $$$, good National FTA TV coverage and they got rid of the biggest and most dangerous mill any sport could ever have hanging around their neck in the process.

That to me is nothing but a complete and utter fantastic result.
