It seems to me that many RL fans watch the sport because of the violence. Are they going to be happy if its "toned down"?

It won't be toned down. That's the whole point. Those who say it will are reacting with their gut and not their head. It'll all blow over.

Sheezus Xman you're all over the shop here. Well adrift you are. Lost in the woods so to speak. Dreaming. Confused...Buffoon.

Australia is not America, as much as you'd prefer it this way, what with your take up of lamo american sitcom humour and endorsement of their ridiculous 'sue others before taking personal responsibility' culture. Why Xman, I'm sure if we had judge judy here in aus, you'd be up there to sue neighbours, high school bullies, work colleagues and family members for insignificant inappropriate ridiculous matters. But alas, id say judge judy would tear you to shribbons and bitch slap you outta there.

Now where was I. Oh yeah you're lost. Australia isnt America and RL fans dont just like the sport because it is acknowledges masculinity and understands the context of violence in contact sports. Now snap out of it!

Now I dont wanna hear any more of this "diddly" from you again Xman!

We aren't going to know anything until the season is underway and as for your comment about violence, isn't your dopey sport the sport where you can't get sent off no matter who you punch, elbow, knee, scratch, bite, Shoulder Charge, Head High, Whip legs out while someone is air-born and spinning them upside down in a spear like dangerous whatever?

Don't talk or preach to us civilised supporters of the other superior codes, we know when someone has over stepped the line and gone too far, we send the dangerous cheating scumbags off.

civilised and RL should NEVER EVER be mentioned in the same sentence, EVER!

The AFL doesnt have a send off rule because sending a player off could have a game changing impact on a contest and punishment for indiscretions are better handled by a MRP with conclusive evidence from video and from both sides. There is no reason why the punishment for a player found guilty of an indiscretion cannot be served in the subsequent weeks.

RL fans boast how tough and brutal your game is. Really, whats left once that gets toned down?

What did they do before they had television replays for the first 125 odd years of fumbles and feebles xman, why didn't they have have a no send off rule for all them years seeing as they had to wait a day atleast for the local cartoonist to draw the incident and get it printed in the paper?

You're but but butting as usual.

Also, don't you think every team sport finds it harder too win when down a player? Yep, some of the best memories I have while watching sport has been when a team has gone a man down yet still wins against all the odds with a last minute sealer, the players themselves show their passion by actually performing for the fans under these circumstances. You are on a total different planet and sadly, if you have never felt what it's like to have your team win against these odds, you're really missing something special.

So its grandfinal day in the AFL and the renowned brownlow medallist takes the field to the cheers of hometown fans. 3 minutes in the poor bastards block is knocked off from foul play, leaving their team without the best goalkicker in the league. Said team loses the match by 3 points.

As I've said before. It's worth cheating in the AFL [-X

And you have been shot down in flames again, nothing unusual bout that.

Yep, pay some blockhead who is retiring a heap of money on the sly to take out their best or their top 2 or 3 players.

Play on.

Play on indeed Parra. Such a system invites cheating and cheaters. The AFL - Got it all wrong when it comes to punishing on field violence. All wrong.

So how often does someone deliberately knock out another person as a tactic in any game, let alone a grand final which would just tarnish that players reputation forever? Acts of thuggery are only seen in the nRL, where they use tactics such as poking fingers up the opponents arse and biting the oppositions ear. Dirty game that nRL [-X
