rubbish. They may investigate before contracting, but rarely afterwards.
Ok, so why do companies like myer, David jones, k mart, target, big w, rebel sports etc sell products from Nike and sherrin ?

Ummm cause its cheap and they have little morals.
I'll say it again, any professional national org worth its weight would be sure to be aware of where the products it purchases are sourced from. I mean Sherrin is the bloody footy, a massive symbol of the code...but the AFL, as Xman correctly put it, "just didnt know"

Woeful.

So, where's your letter complaining about these companies?
Sherrin didn't begin making footies this way, they changed recently. But they've been contracted by the AFL for decades. So again, what company regularly checks the wrong practices of companies theyve already contracted?

Letter? Alls I've done is vote with my feet. Yes I could do more but atleast im doing something, which is better than the attitude you reflect i.e. everyone buys that stuff so who cares. Apathetic and dumb.
As for what companies regularly check the practice of companies they've contracted? I could list several I'm involved with

. It's called good practice Xman. I mean the actual footy, such a symbolic representation of the AFL...developed through abusive child labour.
An AFL staff member would definitely have responsibility for communications with Sherrin and oversight of the Sherrin contract. When Sherrin's footies were developed differently, this staff member should have been informed... but alas the media has not been able, or sought to find out anything about this important aspect of the partnership...it all smells a bit fishy. It is shameful the AFL has not acted before some 12 year old kid was pricked with a needle. It is shameful the AFL has not been transparent in how this particular oversight could actually occur

BS
There is no way major companies investigate in detail the practices of other companies they contact, other than their bottom line.

Nup. Companies with good practice assign a person to oversee every partnership they have. Someone overlooked what was happening down at sherrin land, and noones peeped diddly about him/her in this whole debacle. Reeks of cover up material.

I havent stated there was a cover up, it just smells that way. The facts are someone would have had the role of overseeing the partnership with Sherrin. Nothings been mentioned of them...why? And if the AFL doesnt have people who oversee their important partnerships then

they're a very unprofessional organisation indeed.

Prove that companies regularly examine the intricate details of a contracted companies work practices.

Because dummies keep buying them, that's why.
Any company worth it's salt will always watch what their suppliers are doing. It's too risky to a company's bottom line not to!

Proof would be good. Id love some evidence that major companies investigate the practices of their contracted suppliers in detail.
