Yes too true. Why would they change if the AFL shared Xman's opinion? Too true eels...too true. [-X

Even the AFL are changing the way the draft pick works due to tanking.

Why would they change the current draft system if there wasn't a problem of teams tanking, wake up NEO the matrix/AFL has got you lawl

The issue is a pr exercise. In reality tanking is a myth because an extra draft pick will never reverse the damage done by two or three poor seasons in a row.

Melbourne know this only too well. Two of their first round draft picks haven't worked out. One left and another has failed to meet expectations.

It's a myth. Every team would prefer to win games than get draft picks.

You wake up, Eel. The AFL is reacting to the media speculation, and nothing else.

As Xman explained - issue over.

If this was the case the AFL would stand strong TLPG. As i said earlier i think you and Xman are rather naive to the politics involved in organisational management. The AFL appear to be happy with their lot stating it isnt really so for their deluded fans and then cleaning it up for those who know the reality.

Fairly clever but not clever enough for folk who know better. :D

Now cut it out TLPG. Contribute to the discussion or leave. I wont have your personal insults without some form of contribution to the topic. If you have lost and have nothing more to contribute then thats fine, i still think you're ok.

There's nothing to stand strong on. It's always been a beat up. There's no proof just speculation and talk to sell papers. The potential loophole is closed now anyway.

AFL Football Operations manager Adrian Anderson has made a rare admission that the AFL is concerned about public perceptions of teams 'tanking' games to secure better draft picks

No matter what spin the AFL or Xman or TLPG put on it the writing is on the wall, there's no other explanation other than tanking. He's preparing for next season by trialling players in diff positions etc. He's not putting his best team out there, and not trying to win the games. Clear as crystal.

He's developing his list!

A great way to teach forwards defensive skills and accountability etc is to play them in defense. The same applies for defenders learning how to be offensive and attack in defense. I realize you don't know these tactics since you hardly watch the game!

Bailey also cleaned out the list ready for new recruits like getting rid of senior midfielders like McDonald. They were the in a good position to recruit midfielders like Scully.

These a tactics used regularly by AFL teams and perfectly reasonable to accelerate the development of a team.

And......this is not tanking.

Oh yes it is tanking Xman. Point 3 on tanking states that tanking is "Employing unusual tactics in matches, including using players in positions where they do not usually play"

And thats exactly what baily did admitting that this was specifically done for draft picks. And that's exactly why the AFL is working 24/7 to resolve the issue, all behind closed doors ofcourse, akk the while suggesting tanking doesnt occur. A farce is what we have here Xman. You're just too doughy eyed to see it.
