No they aren't, Xman. To me they are highly offensive, and perpetrators should be withdrawing them.
Xman do some research on some of these players i have linked. You will notice they are all born in AUS making them all Australian just like you cricket stars and just like your AFL stars, so yes cricket are clearly behind league on multiculturalism also.Xman wrote:Seriously, eelofwest wrote:You do realize not one person believes what you have dribbled on about just now...TLPG wrote:KE, you will withdraw that Pauline Hanson inference immediately. Eels, I umpired a Polynesian junior in 1996. I umpired a Vietnamise junior in 1989. So don't tell me the AFL are behind anything! And you have no right to limit your scope on racists to the western suburbs. That's why I added Cronulla in particular.
I consider footy to be the least racist sport in this country, because we take ACTION! I don't consider thugby to be most racist though - I reserve that label for soccer.![]()
Wait soccer racist lol you are a looney clear as day, you belong with Coslettuce mate.![]()
Proof is in the product that is AFL, look at all the team's makeup. Look at the AFL racists who don't want payer rooms at the MCG. Mate look at the rugby league sides, we have Brits The Burgess brothers, James Graham, Gareth Ellis, Gareth Widdop. PNG players, Nevile Costagen, Jorden Meeds. Fijian players, Lote Tuqiri, Petero Civoniceva, James Segeyaro, Aquila Uate. Aboriginal players to many to list Aborigonal all Stars Squad. Lebanese players, Hazem El Masri, Robbie Farah, Ray Moujalli, John Mannah, Tim Mannah. Kiwi Players to many to list.
Italian players Anthony Laffranchi, Mark Minichiello, Anthony Minichiello, Joel Romelo. Togan players Jacob Loko, Esikeli Tonga, Taniela Lasalo.
There is heaps more Nationality's represented in the NRL that i cbf going through.
So you are at least 20 years behind the NRL on this front.
You are one of the dumbest fools to post on this forum!![]()
RL is played in a number of countries, hence a number of people from different countries play the game in Australia! It has nothing to do with with whether or not those ethnic groups are accepted or discriminated against! Nothing at all.
Melbourne is a very multicultural city. It may not have as many Polynesians but it has many Sudanese, Indians, Asian, European and other pacific island groups who live here. Whether people from these racial groups play professional ARs is irrelevant.if they are accepted into society they are accepted overall.

It's like saying the Australian cricket team, or the Olympic team is racist because the majority of people in the teams are Anglo Australians!
Seriously, your comments are just hilarious!
So the austarlian cricket team, basketball team, swimming team, Olympic team etc are all discriminating against other races are they??eelofwest wrote:Xman do some research on some of these players i have linked. Like i said proof is in the product, NRL treats all equal and gives opportunities to all. AFL and even cricket way behind on this front. And you guys wander why western Sydney is rugby league heartland, you now know. :D
MAjor flaw in your logic. When groups of people primarily from one ethnic background form a group, and particularly when they are further connected by common goals etc, they develop a bind or group mentaility which if I might quote a famous anthrolpologist can be likened to an 'inverted' fridge. i.e. a normal fridge generates cold on the inside and heat through its motor on the outside. Essentially what these groups do is generate warmth amongst those 'insiders' and inevitably are fairly cold to outsiders who are 'different' i.e from a different ethnic background. It's part of human nature dear Xman and is why the AFL should work harder on their multicultural policy and change the name of the sport to marngrook.Xman wrote:Major flaw in your logic. The AFL comp looks like RL did back in 91, primarily anglosaxon. In this environment tolerance for others lowers. Thats just the truth, dont blame me for libel now

Mine and eels arguments are fair and true Xman, as is your ignorance atm.![]()
Well done RL =D> A code which has embraced multicultural australia and its values, apparently with ease and all in its stride.
Well you'd be wrong. The NRL have had their fair share of racist incidents, and some quite recently. Every ethnic group is prone to racist attitudes. Just because you have more of them in one competition, or city, or country, doesn't mean you have less racism!King-Eliagh wrote:Hahaha yes this is exactly what I'm saying.
As i said its part of human nature dear Xman. Your ignorance on this issue is shameful, you oughta learn some more about racism, its history, when and how it occurs.
Xman you hit the nail right on its head, having more of a multicultural playing roster (all Australians i might add) and a multicultural fan base makes our fans and players more open to all and less prone to racism in our crowds especially. After all the AFL fans is were the AFL is having big issues and how do you fix this view of the fans? You do what the NRL has done so well, open opportunities for all on the field and off it. :DXman wrote:what trash!King-Eliagh wrote:MAjor flaw in your logic. So you're going along with the theory that because RL is more multicultural it is less prone to racism?![]()
Are you also subscribing to the theory that sports involving essentially one main ethnic group, like the Australian cricket team, Olympic team, or AFL are more prone to racism?![]()
Surely even you are not stupid enough to agree with these very farcical ideas.

Ofcourse racism occurs in the more multicultural rugbyleague. I never said it didnt. The AFL comp and the aussie cricket team are simply more prone to it due to their less ethnically diverse populations. Thus we can make a strong argument that it is more prominent in the AFL comp etc.
If you cant agree with that then you simply dont understand how racism stems and grows.
btw The aussie cricket team has often been in the press for some highly racist comments. Wasnt ponting, our illustrious ex captain, at the heart of some controversy involving the sri lankans not so long ago? And i must say, going to the cricket against india recently, the comments from the southern cross star tatooed bogan fans towards the dancing and drumming indian fans were the epitomy of the dumbest racist bogans i've come across. Were they in the company of indian or alternative ethnic background friends??? Now even Xman could answer that one correctly
So the fan who called Benji Marshall a black ..... wasn't being a racist?eelofwest wrote:Xman you hit the nail right on its head, having more of a multicultural playing roster (all Australians i might add) and a multicultural fan base makes our fans and players more open to all and less prone to racism in our crowds especially. That happened at a Macdonalds in the CBD, how is that the same as it happening at the game as it happens in the AFL. And did you see what Benji did to the bloke, punched his head in.Xman wrote:So the fan who called Benji Marshall a black merkin wasn't being a racist?eelofwest wrote:Xman you hit the nail right on its head, having more of a multicultural playing roster (all Australians i might add) and a multicultural fan base makes our fans and players more open to all and less prone to racism in our crowds especially. You are trying to suggest that a more multicultural environment reduces racism. That notion is obscure!
