80k celebrating the indigenous players of our game!

How many we're there for your little ditty last night?

26 thousand odd to our " real" indigenous game

again
what do a couple of Melbourne suburbs have to do with our aboriginal people ?

can you enlighten us ?
26k lol

These aren't Melbourne suburbs you twerp? Both clubs have fans and members from around Australia. They average nearly 50k for home attendances! They are power houses. They also have a number of indigenous players each. The indigenous community gets behind this game big time. The fans support it in huge numbers.

The NRls sad little game pales in comparison I'm afraid, just like ANZAC day.

they're Melbourne Suburbs .... nothing more
they have nothing more to do with aboriginalism .. then any other club side in any sport in the country ... except maybe South Sydney in the NRL who are known to have huge indigenous support

how arrogant & disrespectful
the NRL would not stoop to this tokenism .. this patronising effort

an apology is appropriate here

Andy Dimmerswitch ... your lame @rsed sport is a disgrace when it comes to the treament of aboriginals

Well all the indigenous people who attend the many events surrounding the game, plus the game itself, seem more than happy with the tribut. 80k at the game would be a massive boost for them.

How many did the NrLs token game get again?

Personally I think both games are doing fairly well with it. Just seems like the AFL produce a more glammed up event and draw the bigger crowd mainly because as Xman says, its a blockbuster between two big teams. The NRL version seems much more connected to grass roots community IMO, and the crowd reflected it last night. I'd still like to see the AFL event this year again to enjoy and see if my thoughts are correct.

Whether some telegraph poll bumpkins see it as lacking relevance is irrelevant beaussie as the game is clearly relevant to the folk participating and the hundreds of thousands of Indigenous folk attending and watching the game.

It's relevant because Dave thinks its the cats whiskers but the majority of people polled by the DT think it's irrelevant.
