That makes perfect sense, Intentcity.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

I notice one of the rl types reckons using "atrocity" is abuse.
Maybe it is usually, but it's a quote from a jounalist.

That's why RL is played in many countries and Vicderpball isn't?

It's a very long bow but there is the connection that an atrocity could be genocide, gang rape, unnatural acts or something similar. An atrocity however means something is deemed atrocious by social norms, but it could be as insignificant as a comment on handwriting ability or someone's manners. Calling rl an atrocious game is just fact. The only insult is the insult to our intelligence to think otherwise.Beaussie wrote:I'm wondering about that too.NSWAFL wrote:"Atrocity" is abuse? It's all about the connection.NSWAFL wrote:That long bow could be the explanation, Cos. Makes sense that these whining freedom fighters would try to go that way.
If you say somebody is a ******, a baboon, a piece of excremement there is no ambiguity.
It's clearly a distasteful, political incorrect and libelous comment.
Persons associated with comment (not just the commentator) can be taken to court.
Words like atrocity, abomination and say Neanderthal have a range so the low end can be used as an excuse.
That doesn't mean there other avenues available.
They can be quite entertaining, clever and witty whereas straight out abuse is usually distasteful, vulgar, loathsome, tiresome and boring.
Nice try Cos.
