I dunno ..... they're angier
as for outrating it
its about 3/3 in the last 6 years
so ummm.... what point were you fumbling ova again ?
Haha, no
The AFL GF wins every year. Why is this 'even' contest won by the AFL every year if the NRL rates higher usually, especially given the NRL GF is shown in the highest rating period of the week and the AFL in the lowest?
really
maybe you can explain why they didn't win in
2006
2007
2009
then
& since when has 5pm on a Sunday been the highest rating priod of the week
& the AFL's on a sat ... up against nothing on TV ... seriously .... nothing ... been the lowest
the AFL GF was up against brady bunch re runs .. involving its so called most popular club Collinswart
& nearly got rolled by the NRL GF
involving only 1 Australian side ... & not a very popular one at that
again
give up... you're just embarrasing yourself now

Hmm 6pm news is the highest rating program of the week.
2pm Saturday is about the lowest.
What does this prove? Well more people are home, cooking, relaxing and watching tv on Sunday evening. More people are out on Saturdays playing golf, walking the dog, working. No matter what else is on TV on Saturday afternoon people still need a reason to home watching, which for the majority of the year they are not. Yet what reason do people need to be at home on Sunday evening? They already are in huge numbers. All Sunday evenings shows rate better than all Saturday afternoon shows. Get it?
Even a simpleton like you can understand this.
And for the GF's, show me a link. The AFLs GFs have regularly featured in the top 100 sporting shows of the last decade and the NRL barely features at all. You'll need to prove that one.
LOL

LOL
it proves the NRL GF was up against some opposition
& the AFL wasn't
& just so you know
people do watch TV outside of the capitals
even you can understand this

According to this website the AFL won the 2008/2009/2010/2011 GFs including regionals. And these weren't even the highest rating AFL GFs!
Your logic is cockeyed! If millions of people are home on Sunday evening they will watch tv, because their ain't much else to do. On Saturday arvo they may be at work, playing sport, etc. The competition is life, not other channels.
Using your logic the tv networks should put all their best rating shows on Saturday afternoon. That's sure to be a winning strategy!

After all, theirs no competition!! Dopey! Can't you see they put them on Sunday evening because they know even with competition they will still get some of their highest ratings for the week because people are home to watch it!
Even you can understand this!!

Well put it this way. The only time I watch tv on Saturday afternoon is for the GF. Other than that I'm out living life. On Sunday evening I'm home, usually watching tv.
Why else would the NRL schedule the game then? why did CH7 and tennis Australia schedule the Aussie open tennis final on Sunday evening! Because people are home to watch it. When they did it was a ratings hit!

Interesting.
So I'd like an answer to this: why does the AFL regularly outrage the NRL GF (including your lopsided regional count) when it isn't even on in prime time?
They always struggle with that question.

According to Raiderdave the idea is to schedule your best shows in the middle of the day because they don't have decent competition to take viewers away!
I can imagine him working for ch10 and talking to the team at the scheduling meeting "I think we should schedule masterchef for 2pm Saturday because there's nothing else on the other channels that's any good!"
"YOU'RE FIRED!!"

we haven't played a game of football on a saturday . during the day .. for 15 years
we haven't played our GF on a sat for ova 30 years
we have evolved & modernised as a sport .... unlike your backward ***** sport still stuck in the 1960's with club songs that sound like irving berlin penned them for bing cosby when he was a boy ... street parades

... no games on religious holidays ...

.... & replayed Grand Finals
******* ...
needless to say it wouldn't matter
nor should it
if people need to whipper snip their under growth ... & kill weeds instead of watching your GF because its on a Sat ..
( & believe me who'd blame em ) then it shows what a piss weak game it is

It's called tradition fool! It's one of the reasons the AFL can draw crowds of 100k to home and away games.
The fact is the AFL don't need to change the scheduling of their GF. They still win the TV ratings easily. They can afford to leave the game in its traditional time slot of Saturday afternoon. They don't need the extra a ratings and possible extra TV revenue.
