Australian Rules football is played professionally only by men in Australia and is a major spectator sport in Australia and Nauru.

the only other place on the planet besides the sthn parts of Aust that singletball is a major spectator sport

I was being asked about presence. It doesn't have to be professional to have a presence. 13 countries are affiliated directly with the AFL. That is something that RL can only dream about and this is a fact.

the ARL ( Australian Rugby League ) is affiliated to the RLIF ( Rugby League International Federation )
it also has 13 member nations ..... all of which have amatuer club comps .... & 5 have professional or semi professional leagues
there are another 15 nations , who are not officially affiliated .. like the USA & Lebanon that play RL.

All leagues are semi professional if they aren't professional. There is no such thing as a true amateur these days.

Correct. And the overseas leagues that are affiliated with the AFL pay their players as semi professional. A lot of players in the other countries are paid also. In this day and age if one isn't paid to play any sport, they don't do it.
