They teach proper maths. There is no such thing as a combined average in the manner you are talking about. You're making it up. I showed you how a real average works and that's mathematical fact.

Another good news story from NSW with another young sporting talent deciding Rugby League is not for him prefering the Australian Football option. As he says, there just aren't as many opportunities or pathways in Rugby League.
He's also no doubt wanting to play in front of huge crowds right across the country and have the potential to earn more in the AFL than one could ever dream of in any other football code in Australia. Good luck Jake.
AFL in league of their own at spotting talent
Andrew Wu
July 16, 2011 .

Take your pick ... Jake Barrett takes a mark for the NSW/ACT under 16s team. He has chosen to play AFL instead of rugby league. Photo: Jon Reid
JAKE BARRETT has league blood coursing through his veins. His cousin Trent Barrett won a Dally M Medal. His uncles were Peter and Mark Stimson, who played at club level in the 1990s.
''It's a league family, that's all they really watch,'' Jake, 15, said.
Yet the boy from Temora has turned his back on the game to play AFL. It is a propaganda victory for the code, which has already created headlines by recruiting high-profile league players such as Israel Folau and Karmichael Hunt.
However, it is Jake's generation that the AFL wants to win over in NSW. It has ambitious plans to grow the proportion of players from NSW and the ACT on club lists to 10 per cent from 4.5 per cent within the next five to 10 years. That would mean more than doubling this year's number of 36 to about 84.
The AFL boss, Andrew Demetriou, still faces a long road ahead in spreading the gospel north of the Murray, but with its coffers overflowing with funds after signing a $1.25 billion TV rights deal earlier this year, the AFL can now tip even more money into its NSW and Queensland junior programs to strengthen the game outside of its heartland.
The general manager of Sydney Roosters' recruitment, Peter O'Sullivan, said the AFL was better placed than the NRL to identify talent. ''They've got a lot more people on the ground than league.''
Jake has spent the past three weeks representing the NSW/ACT Rams in the AFL's national under-16 championships under the watch of Geelong's two-time premiership captain Tom Harley.
He aspires to play for Sydney or Greater Western Sydney and will be eligible for the 2013 draft.
Already part of the Giants' academy program, Jake can progress from the under 16s to the under 18s level, which forms the hunting ground for AFL recruiters. If he is one of the 80 or so such players drafted each year, he stands to earn a minimum $66,900 plus match payments of $2900 a game. ''There's an actual tangible visible career path there,'' said Harley.
There is little chance of Jake going back to his former code. ''It's a great pathway coming down the AFL because there's so many opportunities to choose from,'' he said. ''With rugby league, I just wasn't feeling it.''

Here's proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that RL is in trouble!

That's precisely why the NRL, the clubs, RL journos and fans are so paranoid. They know their product is inferior to Australian Football and can see the writing on the wall now that the AFL is taking NSW/ACT seriously when it comes to promotion and marketing.

Yeah true. Should be a good crowd at the only stadium in town today too - AFL's Cazalys Stadium.

A tad over 10K according to Wikipedia. A tad disappointing, but hey it was the first game there for premiership points.

Was a sellout crowd according to the Herald Sun report.

That's interesting. Wikipedia reckons the capacity is 21K. That's why I said what I said.

Now I am confused. Austadiums has capacity listed as around 12,000. No exact figure provided.

a shadow of a doubt ....
no
its the desperate AFL shelling out money to cover for the fact it is a woefully inferior product that can't sway people up here unless they are bought
& even that isn't working
RL has more opportunties for youngsters then AFL ever will
from the NSWRL junior rep program ( U16's & U18's ) to the Toyota Cup
to the Arrive Alive Schoolboys comp played throughout NSW ACT & QLD
to the U15's & 18's Schoolboys nationals ,, the 15's played in Perth a few weeks ago
to the open aged NSW & QLD cups .. 2nd divison Metro Cup
from there its the NRL .. followed by City Country .. & State of Origin
then the Australian Side
& then you can go to England .. Wales & France to play professional League for in the ESL .. the Catalan Dragons .. the Celtic Crusaders .. or the London Harlequins .. living in some of the worlds great cities
if our young friend ends up following giggleball's career path he'll play in the AFL .. umm

thats it ..

theres nothing else
& he'll see a lot of ... Blacktown
yeah
good choice he's made :_<>
