Now then - let's compare revenue shall we, based on 66% percent of crowd aggregates as a starting point.
AFL aggregate: 4482023
NRL aggregate: 2077213
66 percent;
AFL: 2958135.1
NRL: 1370960.5
At general admission prices;
AFL: $63,008,277
NRL: $39,757,854
On that starting point, the AFL is up on the NRL by over $23 million WITH A LOWER ADMISSION PRICE!!
Incorporating memberships will take a little longer to work out, but that's a bad start for the NRL!!
your formula is floored & all ova the place on a couple of fronts
1) you are using the $21.30 as the average price for an AFL membership
wouldn't be anywhere near that .. some would be .. most wouldn't when you consider kids pay only $2.50 to be a member
it is not that expensive as an average... I'd say the average is no more then $15 per game per member but be my guest & prove otherwise
2) you are saying the NRL also has 66% of members as part of their attendances ... we don't have anywhere near that number
its less then 40% at our games , but also I don't think our average membership price is anymore then the AFL's at $15 a pop
so lets do it right shall we
66 percent; ( Members)
AFL: 2958135 X $15 $44,372,025
NRL: 830885 X $15 $12,463,278
34 percent ( AFL non members ) happy to have all of these pay $21.30
1,523,888 X $21.3 $32,458,81
60 percent ( NRL non members ) these will pay the $29 NRL average
1,246,321 X $29 $36,143,32
total receipts for memberhips & gate takings for the AFL for 16 rounds
$76,830,10
for the NRL
$48,606,30
to be more then double the NRL , which is what the AFL & their ill informed fans are always saying .. your revenue would need to be
97 Million
it isn't .. its a long way from being double
this is the smoke n mirrors I was refering to ... I am once again
Right
