Just watched the Carlton v Essendon game on 10. They seriously need to do something to dull out the crowd noise for the TV viewer. It was so bad you could clearly hear the ground announcer and at times it drowned out the commentary team. I love a bit of noise when im at the game live, but it is seriously annoying when you are watching from home.

We didn't even get Western Bulldogs v Sydney on Channel 10 in Sydney. The game ended up being exclusive to Foxtel.

I heard from a friend in Melbourne that Victorians were going to get a game on Channel 10 and 7 last night. Is that true, and if so gee, I wish we had such choice up here.

That sux. all of my fathers side of the family are South melbourne cum sydney supporters so I know they are not happy with the coverage of swans games. There was a write up of the games to be televised a week or so again in the Melbourne Herald-Sun that showed that Swans fans (espacially the ones in Victoria) are going to be shafted big time. Seems it might be the same up there hey? Good luck to your swans, it will be good to see them up there again.

Cheers

Yeah I've read that Swans fans in Victoria are particularly upset about the tv deal. Would hate to be a Hawks fan in Victoria though. Games in Sydney involving the Swans will apparently be live or near live once the season proper begins. Are you lucky enough to have Fox?

Yeah, have had a pretty good foxtel package for a couple of years. huge fan of the English Premier League, and like to follow the cricket when the Aussies are away from home. I watch it enough to make the cost worthwile. Never been a fan of their AFL coverage though, its ok as a last resort. Just turn the TV volume down and one of the radio broadcast up. and cross your fingers that they are in sync! lol

Anyone know how the NAB Cup game between the Bulldogs and Lions rated on TV? Apparently the game was broadcast in prime time in Brisbane. Anyway would be very interested to see how it rated.

It appears the Bulldogs v Lions game rated well in Brisbane as well as the other markets where it was broadcast in primetime. Who says footy wont rate in the northern states.
· AFL on Seven: Friday Night Football – Bulldogs v Lions (0.62 million) wins its timeslot across its four 8:30-11:00pm broadcast markets (33.4 share in total viewers):

Average Peak Audience
Audience Audience Share
Melbourne 254,000 308,000 37%
Brisbane 121,000 137,000 29%
Adelaide 112,000 120,000 34%
Perth 95,000 140,000 32%
