that's a good question..

It is prob the closest way to the compare a like for like game up against each other..
but I believe the AFL have a few advantages over the NRL in this regard.

and it is not promoted as the NRL's big match..

2018 may change this when NRL takes over scheduling..

because I think the scheduling at the moment>> thanks to the networks SUXS!
Both codes have advantages and disadvantages on FN
NRL have:
- their biggest club playing almost 1/3rd of them, who are also usually in the finals
- their entire heartland in the one time zone so every FN is in primetime for their whole market
- a heartland in two states so a single game can appeal to both
- a shorter game for better ratings average. Although this apparently advantages the AFL because streams of NRL fans then switch over to watch the end of the AFL
- a game that finishes before 10pm so less drop off in the late evening

AFL have:
- a longer game so NRL fans can also watch the last quarter of AFL  Doesn't that mean theyre also AFL fans?
- heartland slipt over 4 states so no single game appeals to the whole heartland
- heartland over 3 time zones so some states get the game very late or very early prime time
- their second biggest market gets the game on 7mate which always rates lower than 7
- a later finishing game so if the game is one-sided many wont bother staying up until 10.30 watching a thrashing
- a longer game for a worse ratings average

However, this game is the best we have
And away he goes - a few more laps around the fishbowl. Again and again. Tell us the isolation story again!!!!!

For the past two rounds your Friday night match has got almost1/3 of your ratings. That's just 1 match, 1 of 9 matches has got almost 1/3 of your ratings. [-( but but but
without a Thursday game it's one of only 2 prime time games on FTA, and by far the most popular night for watching sport. The rest of the games are non-prime time on FTA or on fox. It's no surprise FN makes up a large proportion of our round
:hmm:
That just more bullshit ,What about Saturday night FTA? What about Sunday Arvo FTA. Even your bullshit is full of it.

I love it when you thicknecks use the but but but card to get out so easily, as you got nothing valuable to add.

Our butts are more justifiable then yours.

What you've had all year, is low ratings, low crowd attendance and not much profit. Like every year.

NATIONAL? RUGBY LEAGUE..NATIONAL? lol NATIONAL? dreaming they are. small parts of NZ, QLD and NSW, that's it.

LOL

State of Origin Game 3 was pretty much a blow-out again (like 2015) 😂

Poor ratings, just 2.4m (all games well down on last year & previous years, in fact average 6 year low!)

First year since 2006 where an Origin game hasn't ranked as the #1 TV program (until the AFL GF in September), with the Australian Open Men's Final on 2.7m

So back to the goldfish bowl we go again with silly Fredo. Once again I point out that with the ratings of 15.5 teams v 18 teams plus 49 more game for the fumblers they are slightly in front in Aus. cumulative ratings but behind if you count the full ratings for 16 teams in the NRL. Plus they are massively behind in average ratings.

Once again I say enjoy this brief period of Fredo manufactured fantasy. At the end of the year it won't matter about Fred's fantasy because on every level RL will once again be champions. Have a good day Fred. Dill.

Where do you get 15.5 from?

To use your logic when you and crapper were arguing cumulative

Still the most watched on Australian tv. That's a fact.

Just read the rest of your post . There are 8 games played on Australian tv... 16 teams. If you want to add people who are watching in nz you are having a different discussion to which code is most watched on Australian tv.
