Yeah I guess that's why a nation like Norway can have no RL in 2009 and at the start of 2010 have 11 senior sides?

Or in 2004, no West Indies RL, these days they have a thriving senior comp, a uni comp, juniors and are setting up a full time pro team to play in one of the United States comps next year?

Lebanon had no comp in 2002, this year they have 10 senior sides playing with juniors from under 12 up and have since moved into schools and universities, they have also taken the game to a lot of their neighbours.

I could post about another 15 nations at least that have started up in the last decade, if that's sitting on their hands doing nothing, I'd hate to see what would happen if the RLIF put a little money in to assist

Not any more, Dave! The 21st century belongs to AFL. Besides, who says it's being played professionally for 117 years? The World Cup was only formed in 1954 and it only had four countries! Where was it before that? I think we need proof that it was played professionally anywhere before 1908 when the NSWRL was formed!

Before that, it was unofficial world champs where teams would tour and the best over a period of time would be called the best just like in Test Cricket.
