About 500K a game average for AFL with FTA and PTV. Maybe a bit more. Whats your average 400K?

AFL :- 4.25 FTA matches each week(nearly all live) & 9 PTV matches.

NRL:- 3 FTA matches & 5 PTV matches.

What kind of victory is that? I guess when your supporting a lost cause you take whatever you can get.
All the coverage in the world will not change the facts that the NRL rates more on FTA and FOX.............Facts seem to be hard for these AFL fans to handle...........

NRL 1.2M Ave for Live FTA

NRL 280k+ for Live PTV

This little guy is a champ just like the NRL.... =D> =D> =D>
AFL pay TV exclusive no overlap average 329k (could only find one game) Looks like a win to me.
On top of that we have over 1.2 average for Friday nights. That's 2 for 2.

So again you give total for pay .. What's the total for ftA? Add those together ... What's that come to? Then divide by total of rounds and that will give you an average ratings for each round . Can we have the average ratings for each round ?

Or divide by number of games and that will give each game average

NRL average about 400 k a match, AFL about 500k.
We worked that out pages back!
It was also worked out that the AFL's 1m advantage comes from having more matches on FTA and Pay TV.

I wrote that a little wrong ... What I'm trying to say is that is why you are getting an average... Average per game. An extra game could be either a high drawing game or low drawing game. In fairness the with the giants drawing record low crowds you would think this would bring the average down. If you took the lowest of highest crowd away from each codes attendances I think the AFL's average would go up and the NRLs down ... Possibly

Pay TV and FTA TV are two very different things. Everybody has FTA TV , while less than 1/3 have pay Tv.
So you just cant simply average out the result.

The strength of the NRL is there consistency. They may not have the blockbusters but nor do they have the need to ban 5 teams from appearing in the Friday night time slot.

Saying that thought, at the end of the year, they will have 4 of the top 5 program's

I don't think so unless you are adding in origin... As a marquee event this does very well and the AFL would live something like this ... I would rather see it after the gf though as thinks it compromises the season proper. But yes, SoO is one of the things rl do very very well.

It would seem there are too many variables re ratings then I guess to accurately use them as a measure re which code foes better. Pay tv I think the AFL do well and also ftA .. Nrl would seem to go okay too it seems, so maybe with all the variables we will have to just say both codes happy with ratings. But to add some to the discussion I will add this, the nrl has had to sell out to 9 and compromise their coverage so 9 can make the most of the nrl product ... AFL has not had to do this as much, indeed it would appear they were more able to call the shots and dictate terms on a greater level. Hence all suns and lions shown live in qld, all games on fox etc

another victory for the AFL, we dominate in crowds, we dominate in tv ratings.. how are these 2 codes even being compared

i think for the sake off Rugby, we should compare it to the a league, then maybe they might have a chance of winning something
