Rubbish

Saturday normally has a game starting at 1.30pm and finish 4.30pm. Another game at 3.00pm and finishing 6pm. Another game at 4.30pm and finishing at 7.30pm. Then 2 games starting arpubd 7.30.

3 games have full overlap with another game, while 2 have 1/4 to 1/2 overlap

You make it to easy.

R2 game 1 no overlap, game 2. half an hour of overlap.

Easts v St George 371(220,15,122,5,9) + Reg. 315k + Fox 254k = 940k

Storm v NZ PTV = 280k
=1220k
A good start to the Week!

well that's pretty daft. Of course 2 AFL games with one on fox will outrate a single NRL game on fox only!

True, but we dont either if you live in Melbourne, our biggest market
AFL has games at same time (yes which is a disadvantge) though it helps alot when the game
is broadcast into some FTA markets offsetting the loss.
But as my example showed, the advantage does not offset the disadvantage, often by quite some margin

(if the AFL didnt have the games on FTA at the same time, i would be saying its a huge disadvantage..)
you win some you lose some> its a good setup>>

AFL=Genuis
Yes, it's a clever, but if counting ratings for the round or year, it results in an inaccurate reflection

So far this year there has been 4 AFL matches shown in isolation on a Saturday in the 4.30 - 7 O'clock timeslot. The AFL have average 209.
The NRL same 4 matches 5.15 - 7 have won 4 of 4 averaging 252k . about 44k more .

And Im betting the next word you utter is but :(/ :(/ :(/

Rd3. Suns v Freemantle
Rd4.BD v Swans

Wrong.

Rd 3 Suns v Fremantle started at 4.30 whish still overlapped with another game that started at 2.10pm
Rd4.BD v Swans started at 4.30 whish still overlapped with another game that started at 2.10pm

Sure, the overlap is only the last 30 minutes, but it still contributes to the lower average.

Why must you lie?

The difference is different time zones and no daylight saving in Brisbane.

The Swans game started at 4.35. 5m off 2.5 hours. When I suggested some games only overlap for 5m I was accused of Bullshit!

Melbourne is in the same time zone as Brisbane during April you moron!

The AFL telecast goes for 3 hours so the telecast for both games is averaged over the 3 hours, which means they overlap by 30 minutes. It's like if the NRL games ran 3-5 and 4.30-6.30, the audience would be split for 30 minutes.

The round 3 match was shown in WA and didn't kick off until 4.35.

The matches are divided into segments, pre - match - post . The match ratings are the ones given.

Not for STV, they give one overall rating.

As for the rd 3 game, 4.35 in Perth is 6.35 EST which is not when they played
