The truth is crowds will always vary according to performance, stadium renovations, matchups etc.
What we do know for sure is that in 2012 the storm averaged 12k, lower than any Melbourne AFL team, and the Swans 24k, higher than any Sydney NRL team.
Doesn't get more conclusive than that

8,181 at Penrith. Sunday arvo in sunshine. Oh dear.
For the record, after Three home games, the Panthers are yet to match the total crowds of the following teams that have played just one:
Adelaide
Fremantle
Richmond
North Melbourne
Hawthorn (presumably)

Throwballers may want to throw it on Fox Footy for the North v Pies game to see what real atmosphere is.

So its pretty clear that Easter Friday was an aberration. A day where no shops, pubs or clubs are open. So what happens 90k NRL fans decide its a good day to get off their arses and go to a game.
What about the rest of the weekend? 8k today, 20 yesterday, 13 Friday.....seems familiar doesn't it
23k for the lowly demons against an interstate side today. Panthers take note

Oh dear indeed. So called Rugby League heartland and crowds of 8k. Merge them with fellow strugglers the 13k average Eels already.

LOL @ a throwballer talking about non heartland crowds. Here Dave, let's lower the bar to make it sporting. How many regular season crowds over 25k did the nRL get in 2012 outside their heartland?
I'll give you a clue; it's less than the 8 the AFL had.
Heres another easy one for ya. How many people attended nRL games outside your heartland in 2012? Was it less than the 767,749 that went to see the Lions, Suns, Giants and Swans? How much less? You go on and get the figure so the rest of us can have a good laugh.
I was trying to think of an analogy of the argument you're attempting to make, and then it came to me:
It's like a cripple trying to ridicule Usain Bolt for running the 100m slightly slower than his previous race.
you are a fuckstick
your code is failing
it cannot retain an ounce of decent interest outside the ********* states in the sth
it is heading down the s bend
the 767K outside yr heartland for 4 sides in 2012
it was 750K.. with 2 sides .. just a few years ago
that equals
decline

2010 (the last year before the Suns + Giants): 666,689. Brisbane averaged 29k, Sydney averaged 30k.
That's an increase of over 100k people.
Have you worked out how many people attended nRL games outside your heartland in 2012 yet? We're waiting and poised to laugh. Here's the website:
http://stats.rleague.com/rl/crowds/2012.html
Be a good boy and fetch the figure. The numbers re quite small, you may not even need a calculator to add them.
22 extra games with just an extra 100K attending eh
whats the average their then ?
at a cost of over 200 million dollars too
FMD .. how dumb are the cockheads

so youre claiming the NRL crowds were less than half because of stadium capacities?
Oh dave, you goose!
