Very good crowd for the Gold Coast Suns today. Well done!

My club bloody awful and embarrassing today after half time… and sold out SCG against the Giants could be more pain for us Swans fans. 😞

Gold Coast vs Sydney @ People First Stadium (Gold Coast)
Crowd: 18,034
happened to flick over & see that fumbling mess on the GC

so

when did their home ground get an upgrade to seat 40K ?

        :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
fudging filth
if 4 out of every 5 seats was taken .... then that'll do me

crowd was 9K
no more

it does prove how tribal NRL is

NRL Team could play at there home ground and pack it out..
they move to another ground in enemy territory and there crowds have declined 60%

things will be back to normal for the panthers. in 2027 (fresh brand new stadium)

this season panthers have taken 4 games away to different stadiums
yes
there is ZERO tribalism in racistball
their colourless sport in dumbourne ... with no home ground advantage breeds it ... engenders it.....all the twerpbourne stumbles & fumbles clubs sharing all the grounds there is just eliminates tribalism [-X [-X [-X [-( [-( [-(

Was at the Gold Coast game today. Was weird as all the members areas were quite full - like all the corporate area was about 85 percent full and behind the goals at grandstand in also a lot more than usual. Yet where I stand usually it is chokers (mainly opposition supporters who aren’t members of gc) as they are reserved paid seat - was still a lot on bottom ground row but the stands didn’t seem as full on the wing as usual. Never seen it like that. Good crowd and was predominantly suns fans by a mile / maybe that’s why the other side and GA area were so full ? Good to see the corporate area also having a decent turnout - went there last year - $400 for the ticket and another for my son. Was worth it though but do enjoy getting down into the standing room area - although getting more and more difficult to get a good standing point must say.

Perhaps too hot in the sun for many fans today Fred? They mentioned on the commentary that it was 28 degrees and very warm day on the Gold Coast today?

Yeah, there's that beatup. Or maybe the folk on the GC just don't like the rabble too much. Yeah, I'm going with that.

You really have no idea.

You might not see it as much in the newer clubs, but theres plenty of tribalism between the Vic Big 4 clubs - carlton, collingwood, richmond and essendon. These are also the most attended sports clubs in australia.

Collingwoods AVERAGE crowds this season are over 65,000, Carltons over 50,000.

Giants crowd tonight looks packed - it’s in Canberra so I don’t really see this as a good thing per se - when you have more support in csnberra than you do in the area you’re meant to represent I think thst it concerning. Either embrace western Sydney or move to Canberra.
They played at the exact same time as the Brumbies, and in not so good news for the Brumbies. GWS got 12k and Brumbies got 8k.

stadiums dont create tribalism. people do. Where a team plays shouldnt matter.

oh and in the meantime the "tribal" NRL drew less over the weekend that the first three games of the apparently less tribal AFL.
