Btw how's the arse Raiders season going so far?
woeful .... as bad as they possibly could after 2 rounds.
and that is surprising & shows just how unpredictable the NRL is

but I know my side is still a chance of making the finals as they simply have too talented a roster to be discounted after 2 poor rounds
Starting with the Raiders taking out all the frustration of the last few weeks on the poor ol Dragons this Sunday

there'd be fans of 6 VFL sides at least including your side
who if they were being honest & realistic
know their sides will not make any impact on this years comp ... they'd be lucky to score a win against any side 7 & up

how sad
how pathetic
how ..... lopsided
Given that this was always going to be the case with 2 new expansion sides in the early years, we all know it's only going to improve from here.

Good luck to the arse Raiders as it seems they'll need it. I mean they'd have to be a pretty shit team if they can't even score! What was it 36-0? What a blowout.

well
we all know the VFL will rig & manipulate its comp & therefore the comps integrity .. to achieve this
like it did with the Swines & Wions

Only one problem with that way of thinking Pies.... :-k

There is only 2 teams which are undefeated after round 2 in the NRL, how many teams will still be undefeated in round 2 of the AFL?????????????????......... =D> =D>

My Guess there will be 5-7 undefeated teams by round 4 of the AFL season, what you think King?

Look again at the NRL ladder Eels and tell me how many are undefeated again please.

NRL one of the most predicatable comps in the world. Whos going to win the premiership this year. The Storm or the Broncos. Im guessing the Storm, the Broncos dont look that good this year.

How does it feel that two of the newslimited propped up clubs have won 7 of the last 15 premierships (and lost some of them as well). Both the Storm and the Broncos would have football departments bigger then any of the Sydney clubs to help them with success. Their zones would also be stock full of talent with the likes of Billy Slatter, Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Darren Lockyer, Sam Thaiday, K Hunt and Greg Inglis all being part of these sides.
While traditional clubs like Parramatta are given little money, poor training facilities and to add insult to injury have access to poor zones (Dont Souths cry about their zone). The Sydney clubs have even been cheated out of premierships by the newslimited clubs.
AFL use to have zones in an era where we saw 5 Hawthorn premierships in less then 10 years. Is this where the NRL is headed? Will the Storm have 5 grand finals won in total by the end of the decade?

at least they arent allowed to spend more on the salary cap like the VFL allows some clubs to do in their rubbish comp

news are a private company
they can do what they want outside the cap , in funding teams they own

this pales in comparison to what the VFL are doing
they are the comps governing body for F's sake
& they rig their own comp to suit the sides they essentially own

this business of telling big name players in your game they'll get more money .. that the VFL will pay itself .... to leave their present club in the heartland to play for the midgets or thuns is

well
its disgraceful
obscene

makes a mockery of an even playing field
indeed a mockery of the VFL itself

yet VFL fans in the heartland are too fucking stupid to question it

Ahhh Xman? "Competition" is a word deriving from "compete". If you got teams who simply cannot compete on an even playing, simply arent the same standard, then what you've got is a shite competition.

This has to be one of your dumbest comments for a few days Dave. I will say a similar thing to you that I said to eels. Go back and check when he posted it Dave and then come back with an apology. If you are man enough, which I doubt.

Yeah no big deal being out by 1. I just wanted you to have the correct information.
Be happy to take that beat with 4 teams. But are you sure you want that beat? last year there were 3 undefeated AFL teams after round 4 with 18 teams, which is close to what you would get flipping a coin. Hell, I would take that 6 team beat after round 2 there were 5 last year. Your call though.

Yeah it was quite a good read. The thing that I found interesting was when someone ( not in this article) was talking Brisbane broncos and saying that they out spend the biggest AFL clubs on football spending by 5 million dollars a year. This would be a gap of 10 to 20 million dollars a year in football spending over other NRL clubs like the Raiders. The storm was also receiving an extra 6 million a year if I remember correctly for its football spending from news limited that would again dwarf many of the other clubs. And sorry to repeat myself, but which two teams have won 7 of the last 15 grand finals?
This article says the gap of biggest AFL clubs spending being 5 million a year more then the smallest AFL club is to much and is causing problems with evenness. my question would be what sort of unevenness would a gap of 15 million like in the NRL has cause with quite a few less players in a team as well. I'm sure others have brought this to the attention of the NRL in the past.

And further to that, the AFL and players association are taking steps to address this issue. Meanwhile the NRL seem happy to let the broncos and storm dominate their competition in a desperate bid for TV cash. For shame.
