Correct. Nice given the AFL was on from 8.45 to 11.15 and the NRLs late game from 9.30 to 11.30

What would you prefer eels.
3 hours of ratings of 1.3 million from 8.30-11.30pm
Or
2 hours at 1.4 million from 7.30-9.30 pm.
The bottom line is that there are 10 programs that could have rated well between 7.30 to 9.30 pm but only 1 that could rate that well for 3 hours up until almost midnight. If the AFL wanted to they could have moved 2 of their saturday games to Monday and thursday night and rated massive numbers (including much bigger ratings on saturday due to less competition). But that would have been bad or the crowds and the kids.

FTA only. Foxtel plus fta would ensure the AFL finished well ahead. Plus the AFL didnt start until 8.30 so many melbourne sports fans would have watched the NRL from 7.30 to 8.30

Sports lovers would have been watching the NRL in melbourne for the first hour from 7.30 until 8.30. Sydney sports lovers wold have been wondering where the AFL was at 7.30pm.

359k for the late night game NRL. That might make 600k ratings from 9.30-11.30.

Have you ever had to watch a delayed AFL game with about 30min worth of adds throughout the broadcast at 930pm?
Yes until you have you will never know what effect that has on ratings, also Thursday proves that Live NRL rates its socks of no matter when its played.

From the few games Ive seen of live NRL on fn the live game is almost devoid of ads, there are very few. Your late game is probably closer to what our normal telecasts are like.

Many times ive had to watch AFL games delayed full of adds and with large segments of the game missing to fit it into a certain time slot. Channel 7 havent always done the right thing by the game.
Thursday nights a great night for sport. No sporting competition and a bigger audience overall then friday night. If you got 2 tvs you can watch the footy while the wife watches some crap on the other tv. Dont get me wrong i would love to have thursday night footy but its not good for the crowds and he kids. In AFL terms they would lose 15k in crowds and NRL is probably losing 7k. Which over 5 years would lose the sport 20 million dollars.

How do your AFL games go when there delay 2 hours and starting late at night?
