This is the only apples for apples comparison of foxtel ratings between the codes because both games are shown simulcast with FTA, and both are the only game on at the time.

And look who is miles ahead

miles and miles and miles.
so no comment on the figures?

And your point is? what , that simulcasting somehow reduces ratings? Actually its the other way round and I can Quote you , yesterday, saying exactly that.

But I do agree on one thing, they are simple points - very simple and they mean absolutely nothing.

Ch 9 seem to be grabbing a bigger share of the ratings from Fox then what ch 7 do for some reason, probably due to the new Hi Definition channel that Ch 9 have started.

my points were:

- simulcasting FTA and fox reduces the fox audience, your ratings prove it. Your simulcast games rate far lower. Every AFL game is simulcast, where as only 3 NRL games are simulcast

- The only reasonable comparison of fox ratings between the NRL and AFL is FN because both games are shown in isolation and both are simulcast. The AFL win these comfortably

And what form of spell causes your ratings to go down every year and ours to go up ? - black magic? The occult?

youve changed your scheduling to involve more live games, and more foxtel games so an increase is to be expected.

Show me a source saying our ratings are down or were down last year

Do You think Wookie writes down figures each year for the fun of it?

AFR Aug 12 1914
AFL coverage on Fox Sports and Seven West Media is roughly in line with 2013 figures or down by 2 per cent to 3 per cent in certain markets.

The Age 2015
Australia-wide, taking in telecasts on both the free-to-air Seven network and pay television's Fox Footy, TV audience ...Australia-wide, taking in telecasts on both the free-to-air Seven network and pay television's Fox Footy, TV audience numbers are down by nine per cent.
.... while AFL crowds in Melbourne are up marginally on last season, TV audiences for games have declined.....

....But that appears to have come at some cost to the television audience, where average viewing numbers in Melbourne are down 5 per cent on last year....

Australia-wide, taking in telecasts on both the free-to-air Seven network and pay television's Fox Footy, numbers are down by nine per cent.

Hopefully this helps clear it up for you XMan.

you understand what 'certain markets' means right? fact is Wookie doesnt get all the figures because they just arent all available to the public. A small margin like 2% in some markets when we dont see all the ratings is pretty unreliable

Wookie numbers say down 10%, it doesn't show all regionals, so probably down around 7% this year. The Age clearly says you were down 9% the year before.

But But But what?

Id still like to see the full season total in comparison, not part way through the season. Maybe the ratings did decrease. To be honest it wouldnt surprise me given how many FN games were given to the eventual wooden spooner

not sure. They appear to decrease individual fox and FTA ratings but when added together may come out on par

You may be right.

But fox getting simulcasting
Has led to more subscribers.
Therefore increasing fox games

This is what happened for the AFL

Yes, I agree with that. Thats one major reason your ratings are up this year. FTA is down but overall fox is up by lots. Makes sense now that every game is live on Fox
