The AFL continues to absolutely smash the NRL in reach. Can’t think of a time the NRL has ever beaten the AFL in reach tv numbers head to head?
SEVEN’S AFL: THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Seven 1,775,000 591,000 42,000
THURSDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Nine 1,336,000 627,000 83,000
Umm beatup 'ol pal, I know you are just taking the piss due to the very poor fumble ratings this year but lets get fair dinkum now. The rolled gold standard for TV ratings are averages. As far as I know they have been used since the inception of the current system. (Sookie can fact check this).
That's why every single year for decades the most watched programs for the year have been ranked according to average viewership. That's what ya call a fact beatup - FACT: "A thing that is known or proved to be true."
Reach has been used by fumble fans recently due to the AFL's poor average ratings. It's what ya call a beatup! You'd be familiar with that wouldn't ya beatup loololol!! The only thing it indicates in this instance is the fumbling game goes for longer than Australia's most watched sport. Meaningless in regard to true viewership.
You will of course continue to beatup the reach figure. I will of course call out your BS every time.
Have a great day beatup...........and beatup well!!!

what I've noticed regards to "REACH" from the networks Etc
is that in the dyeing landscape of FTA Tv and the huge decline since 2010 onwards..
they are pushing reach more than ever. as it helps and makes them LOOK BIGGER than they actually are..
now some networks push it more than others.
but as much as I've read etc etc
Average is the go to for most metrics for getting a good picture of the overall success

that 20.7 million FTA NRL figure would include the womens origin
but so did that 2024 figure too
NRL up , way up .... for no reason other then the code continues to grow & gain views at home in living rooms & at the grounds
no reason to think STV isn't following suit
the fumbles & stumbles is a down a bit on FTA , would expect it would be up by that amount at least on STV

no releases as of yet for FOX
which is a shame.
Tv rights being negotiated may have something to do with it..
do not want it made public

who knows

Almost certainly , DAZN won't want to let the NRL know what a little gold mine they are for them
But PVL isn't going to be hood winked , or bullshitted to this time like foxtel did last time
they currently pay the NRL .. 260 mill PA for 213 games a year
400 mill WILL be the price to cover 225 games , going to 237 games in 2028
think thats too much , thats fine
see ya later
