I was at my mates house.

His Dad was watching Fox Sports Aus Game.
we were at the back watching the same game but on Ch 9
as the game was simulcast.

now could this potentially be 2 different figures.

reason I ask, is this could be an advantage to the AFL over the NRL....

No they count viewer not households. If you had a set top box , you have enter to some info manualy, Such as the number of Tv's in the household the number people whatching,

AFL numbers would be higher given Victorian regionals arent published at all (and on last years figures average out to 100k per game). In several cases at the top, this would tip the AFL over.
