I have looked into it briefly and it appears that AFL is played during the northern summer. So there is no news. Better to ask in April or May I think. That seems to indicate that the only AFL being played in the world at the moment is in the Northern Territory.

But if I see something else I'll come back and correct this information.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

Czech Rugby League kicked off in 2006 with a small 6 team domestic comp, this season they will start a 2nd Division made up of 4 expansion clubs, they currently have 8 applicants being scrutinsed by the CZRLA Board looking to join the top division next season.

http://www.rlef.eu.com/news/article/366 ... o-build-on

In positive junior developments, 2011 saw the establishment of the first ever primary school rugby league training programs in Czech towns, around the cities of Pardubice, Brno and Prague, and an inaugural tag rugby league competition, involving junior teams from Opatovice, Horni Jeleni and Pardubice. 2012 will see this extended into an historic junior Czech domestic rugby league championship, with an under-18 team also scheduled to travel to Serbia to play in a European challenge competition. Significantly, the Pardubice Jets Club were successful not only in securing three corporate sponsorship deals, but also the first ever state-funded finances to a Czech rugby league club, when the Pardubice Regional Government recognised their input into both the local community and its economy.

Other clubs too, made inroads into the world of corporate sponsorship with Vrchlabi, in particular, securing multiple sponsorhip deals from local businesses; Beroun - formerly the ‘Black Panthers‘ - forging a deal with powerful local soccer club, Lokomotiva, and re-branding themselves in exchange for access to high-quality local training and playing facilities; and Prague – who also re-branded themselves to the ‘Vikings‘ - launching a partnership with the European Superleague’s Leeds Rhinos that will be beneficial for both clubs in developing the international prominence and appeal of rugby league.

Proof of what? No AFL in the northern hemisphere, or AFL being played now in NT?

Rugby League Norge (that's Norway) kicked of their first domestic season in 2010 with 11 sides and have since expanded into Universities and also new clubs for children and Females.

RUGBY LEAGUE CONVERTING UNION PLAYERS TO “THE GREATEST GAME”
10th January 2012
Rugby League is growing in the land of snow and ice. “The Greatest Game of All” is becoming so popular that now even Rugby League’s age old rival Rugby Union are starting to see the light. The Flekkefjord Tigers are the latest club to join the sport of Rugby League after the former Union club decided to make the switch to Rugby League in 2012. Founder and President of Flekkefjord Kristoffer Milligan said “I’m thrilled to finally announce publically that Flekkefjord Rugbyklubb are now officially a Rugby League club. We’ve had a massive increase in members the last few months, and lately we’ve been averaging an awesome amount of people at training. We’re a very young club that has a long way to go still, but I’m amazed and how quickly the new players are learning. They are an eager bunch and we have players ranging from the age of 15 to 35 of both sexes.

The Flekkefjord club are a great boost to the game in Norway not only because they have made a choice to play Rugby League over other sports but because they bring with them a host of new members including a great number of junior players and women. RLNorge CEO Warren Heilig said ” It’s great to see that our sport is making progress. Myself and all the Heads of all our clubs have worked extremely hard to grow the game and to have a Union club switch over to League is a nice reward for all the sacrifices all our guys make”. He went on to say ” It is great to not only have union players converting but the enthusiasm shown by not only Kris Milligan but the Head of their youth section Kim Andre Seglem who has some big plans to grow the game not only in Flekkefjord but throughout Norway”.

The Tigers club may be new to the game but they already boast 2 National Team players and after a big off season they are looking to try and get more players into the “Vikingene” squad. The club will start 2012 in Norway’s Division 2, but they will also be fielding teams in the under 16s division and the Womens division. We look forward to seeing these brand new converts blossom into awsome athletes through taking part in the great game of Rugby League!

Northern hemisphere.
I can't find any stories or results, therefore the only conclusion that can be made is that they aren't playing. The leagues exist so they have to play sometime and one assumes it has to be the northern summer. I can't think of any other explanation. Can any other AFL supporter? I know the RL supporters will claim it's not being played at all and it has already been proven before that it is being played.

There will be no stopping RL once it makes it in the Unis.

http://www.rugbyleaguenorge.com/2011/11 ... sity-team/
16th November 2011
RLNorge has welcomed the first ever University team into the sport of Rugby League after the Tromsø Students Idretts voted to accept the sport of Rugby League in the student sports options. RLNorge has been pushing extremely hard to get more Norwegians involved in the sport of Rugby League and in the beginning of 2011 were awarded a spot in the 2013 Student World Cup to be held in England in conjunction with the Rugby League World Cup 2013 England/Wales. RLNorge CEO Warren Heilig stated ” We have been working hard on getting into Universities in preperations for our first stint at a World Cup so it gives us all within the organization great pride to be able to get one of our goals achieved, but this is just the first of what we hope will be many Universities taking up our wonderful game”. The man behind the birth of the TSI Trolls and National team player Joakim Jaksland said “I am really happy that TSI have agreed to take on Rugby League as a sport. I think Rugby League is an amazing sport and I feel more Norwegians will get involved as soon as they know the sport is available hee in Norway”. When asked how he thought the guys would go in their first year in 2012 he said “We have alot of great athletes in the University who are all wanting to join the club so I hope we can play as many games as possible and we get the new guys alot of chances to learn more about the game”. RLNorge will be hoping that this historical decision will be the model for many more Universities who will want to join the sport of Rugby League. If you or anybody else you may know is at a University and would like to get involved in Student Rugby League just contact RLNorge and they can help you every step of the way to make sure nobody misses out on their chance to play Rugby League.
