1.06m for rhe AFL despite the game being on 7mate everywhere except Melbourne and Adelaide.

Where as the NRL was on 9 into Melbourne.

This was a very comparable game, 2 popular heartland clubs v an expansion team, all reasonably successful of late.

And what do you know? The AFL won easily, again.

Maybe its because the AFL didnt show the lions v suns......lol
Isn't That how the AFL usually work there ratings Friday night?

An what do you know the NRL got more in Melbourne than the AFL got in Sydney :thumbleft:

How would that that even be possible? Lions and Suns are both banned from Friday night.

but that's basically your only counterargument! You ignore the fact our better games outrate your better games.

Saturday STV AFLSaintsGiants 170k - 1.30pm shown in isolation
Saturday STV #AFLBluesEagles 243k - 4.30pm shown in isolation
Saturday STV #AFLPowerCats 235k - 7.30pm shown concurrently
Saturday STV #AFLFreoDogs 91k - 8pm shown concurrently

Saturday STV #NRLSouthsRaiders 168k - 3pm shown in isolation
Saturday STV #NRLCowboysTitans 273k - 5.30pm shown in isolation
Saturday STV #NRLTigersKnights 303k - 7.30pm shown in isolation

Well look at that! The AFL's afternoon games were shown in isolation for once, and the results were 1 ratings win each, despite the AFL being on FTA at the same time. THEN the AFL had 2 games shown concurrently in the evening and one of the games rated well below any other game. However, they still totalled well over 300k combined

There it is folks, definitive proof of the effect of concurrent scheduling. It basically halves the total TV audience of both games (as I've been saying)

Thanks for coming

Congradulations, You've finally proven that your overlap theory is shit! =D

Your 2 Saturday night matches one involving Geelong(a Friday night team) and Freemantle (a non Friday night team)

Your High rating team 235k , Your side that doesn't rate 91k

And if you want to compare games. Our opening match was a very ordinary affair but still got as many as your draw. and in the middle games, our last 3 years wooden spooner ran out comfortable winners.

FMD youre a dickhead. You've used two games shown concurrently to prove my overlap theory is shit?? :hmm: :hmm: :(/ :(/ :(/ #-o #-o #-o

They were shown concurrently you moron! Neutral viewers had 2 choices, watch Geelong v Port, which was 5th v 7th, or watch 9th v 16th. Obviously neutrals watched the better match! Fact is there were more people watching the AFL on STV than the NRL at 8pm last night, despite the fact the AFL was also on FTA.

Then we have the real story of the day with the 2 Saturday afternoon AFL games shown in isolation which rated comparably to the NRL's games despite the AFL starting at 1.30pm, and also being shown on FTA to Perth. Question, did these 2 AFL games rate far higher on STV than our typical afternoon games? The answer of course is YES. The reason IS NOT because they were better matchups, because saints are a small Melbourne club, and the giants are even smaller. The Blues are a poor performing Melbourne club, and the Eagles saw the game in the early afternoon on FTA. And talking about wooden spooners, the Saints and Blues have been shit on field for years.

Yesterday proves my 'theory' (which is just fact, no theory about it) is correct. How you can try to argue otherwise is ridiculous

As for Fremantle not rating well, it has nothing to do with their popularity, it's to do with the fact they are playing shit. 5 years ago when the were playing well their ratings were huge

Fremantle’s last gasp home game thriller against Essendon on Friday night at Patersons Stadium attracted the biggest TV audience for a Perth-based home and away game for any AFL team in the past decade, averaging 1.33 million viewers nationally. http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/2013 ... tv-ratings

again, whether it's an old excuse or not the ratings consistently show the same result. Primary channels always rate well above secondary channels. Whenever either of the storm or swans are shown on the primary channel they always rate well above their secondary channel average.

Given the difference between the shows that are shown on the Main channel and those shown secondary channel what would you expert?

I'm sure I read Perth's highest AFL's ratings came on 7mate, even though Perth is often shown on the main channel many times.
